Jesery wearing ettiquette - who would have thought. No wonder the afl has a hard time of it establishing the code in Sydney. No way this conversation would happen in a rugby league forum of any note

As far as the women go, I would like to add that no self respecting female fan wears high heels, goes coatless in the middle of winter, nor wears a naff token bit of red as a condition of entry. It should be established that your scarf, cap or hat must have a lived in look. Your outer wear must have a semblance of the CORRECT shade of red in at least one third of visible coverage. Full nightclub makeup is not particularly appropriate.Nor are meals of magic splayed out over the spare seats. Keep to sandwiches or items of similar simplicity, thermos, water and biccy's all of which must be stored in a single bag stored under your seat.
If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

This Eagles bloke came up and said something along the lines of "That's a very shiny scarf you have on there." Implying that I was on some sort of bandwagon.
I took great delight in pointing out to the bloke, who was a good deal older than me, that I'd in fact been following the Swans since before his club was born.
Even the Weagles fans around me had a laugh...Comment

It just goes to show that the Swans Members are a class act.

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

My personal formula for gauging such things is:
You should not wear a sleeveless guernsey without a shirt underneath UNLESS you are actually playing footy at the time, OR you are under 18 years of age. I am 28, and do it with my club GUERNSEY (Please note people, we wear guernseys in Aussie Rules, not jerseys as I've seen them referred to in every second post on this thread)all the time. Even when I am a fat (close) and old (close also) bugger I will continue to do this!
IF you are over 18 years of age, you should not wear a footy guernsey in public at all UNLESS you are going to a game. Again, I do this constantly, with both my Essendon & Nor-West guernsey. Get some strange looks out in public around the Hawkesbury and Blacktown, but consider it to be a pioneering thing.
Optional rule, and one that I try to stick to... is that once you reach 30, you should probably stop wearing them to the game too - as per your post. I wil defy your rule Desie.
If you are at home, or watching the footy at another private residence, wear whatever you want. I have 90 different guernseys, and they make up a majority of my clothing choice, particularly in winter.

Yeah well PK - you DO operate under different rules to the rest of us
I have nothing on your guernsey collection - I have a mere 5 to my name (4 in the closet, one signed and framed). Do you have the WCE "Ochre" guernsey? THAT one should never be seen in public....
I do think that the longsleevers have more use as general wear than the sleeveless....
