Some interesting points on this post.

      1. HALL failed under Roos and Swans leadership group. Nothing sinister about looking at whether a player untried in Swans environment might work as well as being 2 years younger than Baz.

      2. HARLEY has accepted that AIS role and he also declared that there was no way he feels comfortable with playing or coaching against Geelong in 2010.

      3. ROOS will be an interesting case in restraint in 2010. How will he feel if he's able to lift this group to a Prelim or better in 2010? There is no way he's go back on his word but he's sure feel a greater sense of loss to walk away.

However even trying to find where and when he quoted that one is impossible
The story comes from (I think) Trent Hotton. Hotton's career was on the slide and he rang ex Collingwood hero at Sydney Ricky Barham and asked if he was any chance at getting a gig in Sydney. Ricky Barham said no. Hotton asked why. Barham said "because, son, you're a dickhead".

Hotton runs a motivational type business now and tells the story frequently as the point where he turned his life around and stopped being a dickhead. Hotton was also consulting to Sydney and was involved in the development of the "Bloods" culture among the playing group. It was a kind of a line in the sand thing at the time. Let's not allow ourselves to be dickheads. I heard it from Hotton himself so that's how I think it developed.

LOL that's pretty funny. I met Trent and his brother Cam a few times through mutual friends back when they were with the Pies. They were wild boys!!!!
