I spoke to the club the day before yesterday.

They are sending membership packs to all lapsed members.

    Good move.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

      Renewed my membership today
Checked the fixture and realised I'll probably only be in the country for two Melbourne games

Well it took them a month, but I guess I knew it was coming.

Received in the inbox this morning:

        "Dear Robert,

It has recently come to our attention that the Smart Pay instalment for your 2010 membership package was incorrectly calculated, and as a result, you have been undercharged for your initial payment.

The Smart Pay debit that has been made was for a total of $45.83, when this should have been for $54.17.

We apologise sincerely for this error.

As the Smart Pay plan has already begun, the payment plan will continue to debit the monthly instalments at $45.83. The final instalment on the 28th October 2010 will be adjusted to cover the short fall. At this time, the debit will be for $145.87.
        "

Now if this was just about anybody else but the Swans, I'd be telling them to bugger off, we had an agreement to debit my card a certain amount and if they think they are going to just grab an extra $100 at the end because whoever set the website up is incapable of dividing $650 by 12 then they better think again.

I'll obviously just pay it, but it's an interesting question on where u stand legally after entering into an agreement like smart pay.

Maybe that's why they didn't grab an extra rookie, they purchased a calculator yesterday instead.

Just ordered 2x family memberships for the 3 game pass.

I dont get how it works. I rang them up and they said that all seats are not ticketted in the red areas, so first come first served. And we havent had to nominate the 3 games we want to attend.

Does that mean that the "3 game" area could get swamped for a big game, and be empty for the lesser games. I mean I doubt out of all the games to go to, if you only had 3, not many will choose the v Port game. But almost everyone will be on the pies game. Do they still keep space ?

          Doesnt seem to make sense.

Sounds about right. From memory, the members reserve (or Red Zone now) has always been non-reserved, and subject to capacity. I think it's even the same for the cricket etc.

I wouldn't really worry though. Probably only about 2-3 games in the last 10 years have ever been full in the members reserve IMO.. and if you turn up about an hour before the game or earlier, I doubt you will ever have problems.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

You could even come and sit next to me ... no one really checks your tickets at Homebush.

                Yep.

I have averaged about 5 or 6 'extras' to every Homebush game since we started playing there. I encourage work colleagues to come and 'have a look at AFL' and my daughter always brings 2 or 3 schoolmates along because it's easy to get to by Public Transport and travel is included.

I just tell them, jump online and buy the cheapest ground level seats you can find (usually they get the opposition supporters seats behind the goal) and just come and sit with us in the Red Zone.

Never been a ticket check yet, in 7 years.
