      6.

Was a 5 but for the last game Vs Lions we he reminded me just how good he was. Overall, a disappointing year after an excellent 08. Not saying he went a year to long, he just didn't go out at his peak.

        Hmmmm.....

In the interests of objectivity, I always do my score and comments BEFORE I read everyone else's. Seems I missed the point of this one. i.e. A big Micky O love fest as opposed to an actual rating of his performance in 2009. in that case, 11.

Micky O, Possibly, the greatest Swan of all time.

I just voted 10 because I thought that was the most you could give, after reading everyones posys, can I change it to eleventy 7?

Went out as all greats of the game should. Will a footy in hands and tears in his eyes.
6 for onfield performance + 4 for the farewell festival.

              A magical legend.

Didn't kick enough goals in his last few seasons..... Probably picked more on emotions in the end than what his body could deliver......

This should stir the pot a little in the off season!

Firstly, oh der. Personally, I was just happy that he was playing - even if he never kicked another goal. I'm pretty sure most felt the same. It was very important that he reach his 300 milestone. Sometimes you've gotta make sure that that type of effort is paid back, and if picking him even though he was playing like crap is part of that payment, well I'm ok with it.

Secondly. Nuh. Sticks and stones and all that stuff pal.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

If I had the choice of:

Playing Mickey 'O' to get to his 300th and not making finals, or,
Not playing Mickey 'O' and making 8th or 7th spot - I would pick the former.

Always room for sentiment in football.

Still showed some signs in his swansong year.

I'm a great believer in "finals, whatever the cost, whatever the placing", but in this case your 100% correct.

Simpson was never named on North's fwd line..... maybe that is the difference?
