It must be even worse not being able to spell properly.

As for your prediction about people being prepared to abandon the NRL in droves, you must be ignoring the size of the crowd at the year's preliminary final between Parramatta and the Bulldogs, two of western Sydney's heartland teams, which smashed the previous attendance record for an NRL preliminary final.

Despite all the off-field dramas this year - and there were plenty of them - such a huge crowd is evidence of an enormous desire for rugby league in Sydney, and people's willingness to forgive the players, so long as they deliver on the field.

So don't bet on mass desertions from rugby league. There's no evidence for it.

            Love the Laughing Clowns title.....

Well said Wardy - some people seem to miss the point - The Clowns will generate extra media attention to the NSW AFL (including the Swans) that has to be a good thing for the code.

See Post 13, 21 and 42 in this thread. Lots more in other threads over the past few months.
Although I find name-calling based on where someone now lives, or where they were born, offensive, I defend your right to say it and would not want censorship over it.
I guess I am just voicing my disappointment that my beloved team could be tarnished by their supporters. I would die if "we" ended up like the small minded Collingwood fans which have made their team so hated.

I believe that GWS will slowly succeed, which will then give AFL a much higher profile in NSW. Good for us.

PS I hope no-one calls our South Melbourne fans names. Or our Tassie fans. Or, etc. etc.

Yes, this analysis oozes ignorance. It simply demonstrates an anachronistic view of Blacktown that is a hangover from lazy jounalistic practices of previous decades. Having lived at both Bondi Beach and Blacktown I can vouch for the vibrancy of both for different reasons.

I certainly don't want the Swans to be labelled an elitist club by default.
It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.
