Wow....time to dredge up the Failed Blood Brothers thread. Very good read - though asks more questions than it answers. Guess we'll see a tell all book in the next few years.

I've got nothing against Baz, I dont bear no grudges and I wish him and the Bulldogs all the best (not against us though
), but he is staring to get dangerously close to saying nasty things about the swans and if he does start to @@@@can the swans...well then I'll....I'll....I'll....send him a strongly worded letter telling how dissapointed I am in him and could he please stop saying such nasty things about the swans. And if he still continues, then I will be left with no other option but to start booing him at games, and when I boo ya, you know you've been booed.

Oh, don't worry, the book is being written as we speak, but I doubt very much you'll see it before his career is finished.
Methinks the timing may be somewhere in between football and boxing to give the boxing career a bit more press, not that I think there'll be any lack of hype.
It should be a good juicy read, especially for Swans fans.
.....and you can read all about how he was off to Hawthorn before the Dogs made him an offer he couldn't refuse

Soory Bloody hell, I truely believe that with ROK and Jolly, it was just a case of those two bein Victorian boys and they just really wanted to go back to Vic. They had played many years at Sydney, been loyal to the club, and just asked if they could be moved on to finish their careers at another club. We were able to accomodate Jolly, but were not able to for ROK. And I'm very glad we weren't able to get a trade done for ROK, he had a brilliant year and has decided to finish off at the swans. Bloody marvelous!!!.Comment

Some of the Swans players have had long and good careers that might have even seen them do better than their natural ability.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

I don't think players or people for that matter change clubs on a whim, particularly when they have been with one club their whole career. I find it hard to believe that if Hall has issues he's not laying down he's the only one. The two quotes earlier in the thread are pretty clear and easy to interpret.

Whatever was behind ROK's dipping a toe in the draft (missing Melbourne? wanting an extra year on the contract?), I think it came to nothing because no other club was seriously interested and he ended up being stuffed about, perhaps especially by Hawthorn. Yeah, whether he MEANS it or not, he seems to imply that our boys are not 'professional, driven or modest'.........maybe we're just reading far more into it than was meant

I'm not making too much of it. I think he's essentially just saying that despite the different cultures at the two clubs the Dogs just like the Swans are professional, dedicated, etc - since when do Swans fans give a damn about the Victorian media anyway ??Comment
