WOAH this guy looks the goods. He is very very good, disposal not great, but his decision making, speed, agility etc are awesome. An absolute steal at that pick. Im looking forward to seeing him play.

I agree completely, besides none of the boys looked over the moon (except for Brad Sheppard who basically gets to play for his home team) most of them looked scared out of their minds!

Must be crazy supporting West Coast through 2005-2007 against Sydney, and then moving to a club you probably learnt to hate. Imagine any of us playing for West Coast! That said, i'm sure any player in the competition would take Goodsey and Micky O as mentors.

All we have to do as Swans fans is make them feel a part of the family and it won't be long before they feel at home with the bloods.

Great to see such optimisim at the club again after such a difficult time last year.

Will definately take more notice of the reserves next year to see how these boys are shaping up.

Imagine how Seaby must feel having actually played in those games.

Here's a good article on Sam Reid.

I'm inclined to agree. It looks as if he can do the sweeper role, then leave his man and set up his full forward, tackle, decide quickly, (generally) accurate kicking, pick up an intercept. And he looks pretty quick. Exciting stuff.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Like this a lot - I was expecting a scrawny midfielder, but he's got some strength and a booming left foot. Nice pick up indeed this late in the draft - I thought this was meant to be a weak year?

Dead-set, I feel like we've got front row seats to the beginnings of a new "Swans era", that we'll be talking about for years to come. I'm very happy about that.

Matt Burgan doing a live chat. Here are his comments on Reid and Sumner

                              Matt Burgan:
Hi Cam, some recruiters rated Sam Reid in the top 25. He made the draft by just a few days, so is still young and raw. The Swans will consider him a fine pick at No.38. Sumner is interesting. Some rated him in the 30s, others rated him late. But he was always expected to be drafted.

Sting - as in the musician, real name Gordon Sumner.
