I can't help it..I just like Bevan.
The last game I watched live last year I just liked the way he went about things especially his interactions with the other players..he just has this good aura about him as a person.
I can't write as eloquently as Connelly but I empathise with his sentiments"The Dog days are over, The Dog days are gone" Florence and the MachineComment

"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.Comment

Bevo moving into the half forward line etc has only confirmed my gut feeling that he could easily contest the likes of Kennedy for a ruck clearing possie in the 22. we all know that two of of our 6 forwards are generally highly involved in the ruck with the style of footy we play.
McGlynn based on his past efforts could walk into the 22 but Bevan and Kennedy and Bird will be most likely fighting for only 1 or two spots available for their style of footy.
Cant remember who I was arguing with but i still think Bevan is a good as chance as a Kennedy for a position in the half forward line to win the ball !
they said he was a "back" only !.............only in 2010 if we suffer some injuries me thinks
what a change in only a month or so !"be tough, only when it gets tough"

It's pretty simple really. One smallish, hard at it player per team is enough. And with McGlynn who has the tank to play midfield and has more talent in his thumb, there is no longer a need for Bevan.Comment

Glad you asked. It's probably the only way you'll ever learn anything about football.

Now, it is pretty simple - there is ALWAYS a need for a Bevan. Every team has a Bevan or two. We have already lost Luke, and tragically Monty; so we need Bevan. Its just part of the chess game. Shortarse will do just fine in and under, he looks to be that type of player (more Jake King style), not unlike Schneider but I think with a bit more style and willingness to get his knees dirty. That is not Bevan's role. His is the uncompromising body on the line backwards defensive mark inside the 50m arc when all is lost; the other backs do the running, that's not his job. Lesson endith....Mind you he needs to play a more consistent game this year (I can say that now, its 2010 officially) than last.If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

I agree with RP on this one. There is no way known (barring injuries) that Bevan will get a game based on who we've recruited...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Grrr.....thanks for the footy lesson. I conduct "what was that about" clinics for the bloke who introduced me to the game in the first place~!!~!

Is that you Connolly?? Have you taken to cross dressing??
Regardless, you clearly still rate bravery over ability. No one hear doubts his courage and commitment. But a player with twice the ability (Insert any AFL player's name here) is worth a lot more.Comment
