Now, it is pretty simple - there is ALWAYS a need for a Bevan. Every team has a Bevan or two. We have already lost Luke, and tragically Monty; so we need Bevan. Its just part of the chess game. Shortarse will do just fine in and under, he looks to be that type of player (more Jake King style), not unlike Schneider but I think with a bit more style and willingness to get his knees dirty. That is not Bevan's role. His is the uncompromising body on the line backwards defensive mark inside the 50m arc when all is lost; the other backs do the running, that's not his job. Lesson endith....Mind you he needs to play a more consistent game this year (I can say that now, its 2010 officially) than last.
Unfortunately, the pure and simple truth is that Bevan is a liability. For every "uncompromising play" he commits 2-3 shocking turnovers that cost the team.

There is no place in today's game for small backman like Bevan unless they can offer some creativity coming out of defence. His skill level and talent doesn't allow him to do that IMO.

Some very harsh calls on Bevo, and at times I have partially agreed withthem.
But Bevo can play some very good games (needs to string together a dozen from the get go to keep his place though) and as the past has shown the match committee think a lot more of him than the RWO collective.
Just don't let him play in the very back line of the team.

Bevan is mediocre. Brave but stuffs a lot of things up.

I also think people will be disappointed to find McGlynn isn't the player they are talking up. He gets a lot of the ball but his disposal is rubbish.

Maybe our new Bevan in more ways then one?

Neither should get a game IMO.

42 doesn't get a lot of the ball. You're thinking of his direct opponent.
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

So too is Richards mediocre. Bevo makes no more mstakes than he and when TR makes one it is usually a game loser.

I suspect without both of them down back in 2010 the backline will be a whole lot more efficient.

IF bevo plays in the seniors, AND plays like his usual crap, he's gunna be my new whipping boy.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
