    Who's our bolter?

I'm curious to see who every else thinks will take that next step this year. I'm kinda torn on a few. I think Nick Smith might do some damage, and I'd also be willing to hedge my bets on either Mummy and Seaby grabbing their new start by the scruff of the neck. But the guy I reckon who'll take it up a gear is Craig Bird. He's looking fit, and the puppy fat is gone. Let's hope Roosy unleashes him.

Who do you think is ready to take it up a notch.

    barring injury...

Mumford - will be considered a top-5 ruckman by years end, Geelong supporters will be gnashing their teeth and we Sydney folk will be saying 'Darren who...?

Goodes - reborn as a CHF will dominate this year and win his third brownlow in a third position on the ground to show he is the most adaptable player to ever pull on boots. NOt really a breakout year in the sense of the OP, but he is changing roles...

Grundy - Now that he has the confidence and is in a settled position will prove the naysayers wrong and becoming a great defender

Jack - may surprise a few because he has really flown under the radar, but has done the hard yards now and is ready to how what he can do as an attacking player in addition to negating.

On top of that, I expect steady improvement from Bird, White, Smith, MOD, Hannebery and Kennedy (seems odd to say that) and hopefully a few games from Johnston that we can get excited about.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

I have a good feeling about Tadhg doing something special this year.

His best year was probably 2005 and after that injury and depression crept into game.

This year he is free of all burdens, physical and mental.

But he is an established performer.

As for a younger gun making the biggest impact, a bolter, well I have high hoped for Jesse White to kick 50+ goals this year. We need him to do that for the balance of the team and if we are any chance of playing finals.

I am a huge Hanneberry fan and would love Dan to dominate, become Sydney's Trent Cotchin minus the injury and claustraphobic expectation.

It's definitely going to be Ed 'The Cheese' Barlow's year this year. I think its all just going to 'click' and he might surprise everyone!

I've watched a lot of Kennedy due to my brother following Hawthorn, and so was caught up in the whole 'excitement' by Hawk fans of having another Kennedy in the fold. Young Joey will go places. I've got no doubt about it. I remember his debut; you can actually view his debut and the build up to it in the 'Essence of the game' documentary. He's a massive unit. Watch thos space I say. So I suppose I've got two; Bird and Kennedy.

                whos the bolter

Nick the "esky" to have an outstanding year

Kirk (topping the tackle count) and Goodes (cause of who he is) to share the Brownlow... ( I can dream)

                Shaw and Kennelly to fly

Bradshaw and White the new forward duo to shock the footy world...

Teddy Richards to get some credit

Smith,Jack and Moore have been doing extra running since the end of last season.(definately Smith and Moore,I think Jack was the other one).Hopefully their efforts will pay off.

                    Kristin Thornton.

The boy can take a fantastic grab, is a good kick and with a bit of confidence could be anything.

Jack or Meredith. If I have to pick one, I guess that if K.Jack is released from tagging duties as all of us here seem to think so, I think he will be an explosive half forward.

As far as having a break out year is concerned we should all be hoping it's Paddy Veszpremi. That will show our future is bright indeed.

I jusgt read this thread and I think the bolter for this season is the Sydney Swans! Have you all counted up how many possible bolters you have nominated!

Me, well, lets see, Smith, Meredith, Kennedy, Patty, NicMal, Cheese and Jack, with a side serving of Kennelly and Shaw. And White. And Bird......possibly Hanners and Seaby with a dash of Mummy as well......I am going to need heart pills this year.

Better add McVeigh to that list, I am thinking this is the year he becomes one of the top ten midfielders in the league.

Not to mention Pebbles who, with a year of onballing under his belt and with no let up in his training, could also be in AA midfield contention.
