I think the comment somebody made that he would have been a total star 10-15 years ago is a good point. Back then the engine and pace was not as critical as today. Where he lacks it a bit for a player his profile is in his snaps at goals.Usually players built like him are deadly (ala Leigh Mathews). He has however had a good pre-season and on his first match this season he certainly earns his spot.I fear DTL , Hanners, Bird, Bevan might edge him out later in the season unless he starts to get his goals.Maybe not quite in our best 22 but very close.
Less is Moore

Seems to have missed the mark a little.
While I quite like Moore, was hoping to generate more discussion about where he is at rather than the game specifically. I think his scope for improvement is minimal and when you look at how he fits into the team he:
-misses getable goals regularly that should be his bread and butter
-doesnt have the speed to be a lock down forward
-doest have the engine to play in the midfield
On the other hand, the same could be said of a number of our players, that their scope for improvement is minimal, think Kirk (even as a younger player), Bevan, LRT just to name a few.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

Moore'll be staying at the swans for a few years yet but probably won't play every game this year. In 2008 I thought he was future captain material but he'll need to do much better than 2009 for me to think the same at the end of this season.up the gutsComment

Another solid performance from Moorey. Loved his deft little tap to Kennedy in the 2nd quarter which set up a goal from Bradshaw.
Smart player who is really working hard as he knows he's on his last chance.Official Driver Of The "Who Gives A @@@@ As The Player Will Get Delisted Anyway" Bandwagon.

Moore is doing enough at present to stay in the side, but he has Bevan, Rohan and Vespremi breathing down his neck at present which means he needs to come each week with his best game or he loses his spot.

Looks like we have our whipping boy for the year and if some of the past years whipping boys are any indication (ie McVeigh, J Bolton, Grundy ) he will probably have a breakout year and figure in the top ten of the B&F. Basically people need to forget last year and start looking at his efforts this year and so far he hasnt done a lot wrong in my opinion.Comment

Bulldog has a job to do. He knows what it is. The coaches know what it is. His teammates know what it is. It does not necessarily flow that WE know what it is. He keeps popping up and doing something creative. there are 22 of them. You cannot expect everyone of them to be the Schtar!! And I agree with Mr Mag, eggy faces could be all the go by the end of the season. If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

I was critical of Moore's selection in the opening round, but he has repaid Roos' faith with 2 very solid performances. His decision making has been first rate. Its frustrating for those of us who cant wait for Rohan to debut, but at the moment Jetta is more likely to lose his spot to Rohan than Moore. Jetta has had his moments, but seems to be thinking too much out there. Has butchered some golden opportunities and made some rookie mistakes, which is to be expected I guess, plus he is a defensive liability that other teams will soon exploit more and more.Comment

). Two games into his career and he seems to be doing fine from my perspective.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I think he's actually had quite a few occassions where he has looked to be thinking about things/in two minds instead of just playing with instinct. Knowing when to back yourself will come with confidence/experience- the only slight concern I have (and it's very slight, I'm not overly bothered by it) is that after playing at WAFL level he doesn't seem to have that; I'm not sure if it's having the confidence to play at AFL level or if it's having the confidence to play within the team structure whilst still backing himself. Where my slight concern comes in (and, to be clear, I don't think his form is even close to warranting it) is that if it is the former then a run in the magoos isn't really going to help that one chink in his armour if a year of being successful in the WAFL didn't, if it's the latter then a run in the magoos would.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

I agree, he did look that little bit more comfortable this week than last week. My "quite a few" was thinking of accross the 2 games this season. He looked a lot more at home in the NAB Cup than he has so far at AFL level.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

Sure he has been a little cautious at times, but that's a 2nd gamers concern about making the right choice. However what about in the 3rd quarter(?) when as quick as a flash he dived into the bottom of the pack - and the ball shot out like a bullet into the hands of a teammate. He was then up and out of there before they had a chance to jump on him. ALSO didn't he have something like 80% disposal efficiency (Can't check now, afl.com down at the moment).Comment
