There is a whack of depth here. Mention should be made that Reid the Weed took contested marks in most of his goal kicking, and that was five straight.
Ted was as solid as ever.
    MOD is a good player.
Lewis J is a natural, he can read the play in advance and gets to contests easily. It was great seeing him in action, and ladies and gentlemen, it is no wonder he was picked up in 2008. Scrap 2009.
Ressies report SHOULD be up and running by the end of the day.....

Happened right in front of me - he yelped as he and a Belconnen player rolled on the ground for the ball. The trainer came out but he came off of his own accord, albiet very gingerly. Hopefully it was just a roll and not too serious. Wasn't worth the risk at that time, the match was over.

Bevan also came off early in the 2nd half and had a shower - was the 23rd man incase anyone was wondering.

        .
Agree 100 % Primmy. First time i've seen him in action and is very talented player. The other who struck was Sam Reid. He is going to one solid unit when he grows into those shoulders! I love Chris McKaigue (sp?) - he seems to get everyone excited.

Nobody has said much about Bluey. He gets plenty of the ball and excites with his pace, his disposal was often dismal. I reckon we picked him up more for his attitude than his ability. He has a lot of work to do on kicking and decision making.

Hey ORB. Can you clarify - do you mean Rohan?
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

I didn't think his disposal was that bad, he also delivered some lovely passes amongst the odd misdirected one.

Some of the Belconnen players looked to roughen him up a bit but Gaz gave back as good as he got. There is some genuine fire there but it shows some of the risks our young stars have playing in that comp.

                  Me neither.

And although he wasn't best by any stretch of the imagination, when he took off on runs, through the middle or on one occasion tight against the boundary line, he was electrifying. Would love to watch a foot race over 50-60m between him and Jetta. Suspect it would be a very tight contest.

Had guessed it might be something like that, or maybe some family issues to deal with. Early reports suggest he had settled well but I guess there can be a lag in reaction sometimes. Hopefully he just needs a bit of time and can come back and adjust because he looks to have talent. Maybe MickyO needs to have a chat with him. (I suspect he already has.)

Maybe he got sick of being called Lewis Jetta by the press.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

LOL. Also as he was brought up by grandparents and uncles, there may be some family issues to be dealt with. But he is only 18. And we could have lost MickyO the same way if his mother had not dealt with him the best way he'd respond to. Tell him he no longer has a bed.

The thing about Sam Reid that was most impressive was not so much his size (and potential size) or goals, but given we recruited him as a key position defender, he exhibited both terrific closing speed and capacity for second and third efforts.

I can't remember whether it was Emma Quayle that was surprised he'd slipped through to pick 38 but whoever it was, the glimpse of him on Saturday suggests potential for a real bargain
