The thing about Sam Reid that was most impressive was not so much his size (and potential size) or goals, but given we recruited him as a key position defender, he exhibited both terrific closing speed and capacity for second and third efforts.
I can't remember whether it was Emma Quayle that was surprised he'd slipped through to pick 38 but whoever it was, the glimpse of him on Saturday suggests potential for a real bargain
