    Syd v Rich Game thread.

    What no game thread already???

    Awseome 1st qtr.
    Good 2nd qtrt.
    Ave 2nd half.

    Good solid win.

Big Mummy's best game so far. Thought he had a terrific night.
McGlynn, just keeps popping up everywhere. McGlynn >> Davis!!
Had've kicked straighter would've been best on ground, but I think Jude got that.

I think Goodes is a bit amiss if he's not on the ball. play's OK, but ...

Seaby needs to put on a bit of bulk, got out muscled by Simmonds too easily at times.
LRT had a dirty night, as did Grundy to start with.

I noticed a few times that swans players got the ball in tight contests, and braced for the tackle that never came, you can almost see the surprise on there faces as they run out of trouble.

Jesse got a bit more ball tonight, but still can't seem to really get into the game.
I though it was going to be Bradshaws night. but didn't quite get going. Still probably his best game for us.

Jetta seems to be slowly warming up. his best game too, even though there was only flashes of it.

Overall a good win. Pity we couldn't bury them, DEEP.

Diabolical, lazy, error riddled 2nd half. A most unsatisfying win when we play so well in the first half and so badly in the 2nd. Reminded me of the game against Richmond at the SCG last year. I know I should be happy with the win but instead I feel angry.

Not sure that I am angry as such, but certainly disappointed and frustrated. First half was played against witches hats, and on one hand can't blame the players for their intensity dropping. But if they trained against witches hats the way they played in the second half, I think Roos would be looking at the likes of MOD, Barlow, Rohan, Smith and Vez who ripped it up during the afternoon game.

That 2nd half was terrible, really horrible to watch actually, but a 55pt win is a 55pt win. Good crowd too.

Jetta's skills really worried me tonight, couldn't seem to pick it up cleanly all night. (sort of made up for it with that O'Reily wing run though!)

How pathetic were Richmond though? wow they have issues.

Except for that big clanger at the end I thought LRT had a very good game. Swans are starting to use Reg as an attacking defender obviously appreciating his good foot skills and clever footy brain.

Thought we got a big head in the second half and tried too many flashy things especially coming out of defence. Go back to basics please

Not a good sign for Mocca White when Roos made him play on Riewoldt in the fourth. I think his performance is an extensin of the disfinctionality in the forward line. In particular Goodes and Bradshaw aren't on the same wavelength. I would resist calls for White's acing to allow an understanding to develop

The second half was very poor and lazy footy. There is pressure on spots and seconds form must be rewarded.

Rohan and Patty Vesz were a class above in the twos and are banging down the door.

I would drop Rhys Shaw for Vesz. Personally don't think he's offering us much and disposal as awful as ever. Class must be rewarded.

I thought it was there reserves team playing!!

The win puts us in the 4th, albeit temporarily, but definitely in the 8, AND above the pies.

It was an interesting move for White. Thought maybe Roo's wanted him to get his hands on the ball a bit more, to build his confidence more than anything. But who knows what the reason was.

LRT was OK, but had aquite a few clangers I thought, not just the last one.

Back to basics sounds good to me.

White is lost at the moment. Three talls isn't working - does it working for any club?

I'd rather Rohan as the third tall at the moment.

Can only echo the sentiments above - looked sharp and hit targets albeit in miles of space in the first qtr but as the game wore on we got worse. The second half could finish quick enough.

I wonder if they will bring TDL in for White considering he was tipped to make his debut rd 1 before injury in the pre-season...

I think Shaw is suffering from having Kennelly back in the team and Malceski playing soooo much better.

Bradshaw is improving rapidly and that can only be a good thing.

Not going to go through the rest of the team though....

As for Richmond, well, I'll be tipping Melbourne next week.

                        I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

                          What a game by Jude.

                          33 possessions... 15 were contested.

Sometimes the opposition bring you down, richmond are just crap but the win will continue to build our confidence. We can't drop anyone from that side. God its great to have so many genuine back flankers. Melcho will be the pickup of the season, hes not the same guy that was running around last year.

Very disappointing second half. White needs a couple of weeks in the ressies and Jetta will hurt us if he ever has to play defence. i thought Shaw was a bit better than last week. Time for Rohan to be selected.
