Mcglynn out ofr 2-4 weeks. Who to bring in? Roos says Smith

    Injury List

So unfortunately Benny Mcglynn is out for 2-4 weeks with a quad (thought it was a corked thigh).

Anyways who do we bring in?

Veszpremi to give us that extra punch?

    Bevan?

or do we go with the Blood Nut Gary Rohan?

    Or someone else?

    Patty. Patty, Patty, Patty.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I'd like Gary Rohan: he has the pace, the tackling skills and is exciting to watch. But we'll probably see boring old Paul Bevan.

Depend on the match ups but would love to see Rooster Boy debut.

Nick Smith! - MOD would be disappointed not to make that list...what's he got to do!

I'd say the choice is between Nick Smith and Vespremi.

          Very disappointed if it's Bevan.

Veszpremi if his match fitness is up to it, otherwise a pretty even choice between Smith and Rohan.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I'm glad I kept that lazy $5 in my wallet (the $5 I was tempted to put on McGlynn for the Brownlow). That said, this news sucks but at least we get to see someone (Vespa, Vespa, Vespa) brought in from the 2's.

Can't see Rohan, or anybody for that matter, being promoted unless their name's in the best every week. He's not doing that.

Vespremi's problem seems to be fitness or more accurately his "tank", but it appears he's playing a similar role in the 2's as McGlynn.

Firstly, sad face for Ben! He's been fantastic. His busyness in our forward 50 would have been very useful.

I haven't watched enough of Vesz in the 2s to say what his role is. I thought he was playing more off the half back line rather than half forward.
However, we are spoilt for choice at the moment as any one of those named above will contribute well.
As I have to choose, I'm going to Rohan, as his hot tackling and defensive pressure in the forward 50 is a pleasure to watch up close from my seats.

I suspect that Smith and Vez probably head the list in the coaches' minds, based on comments they've made about players who should be playing senior footy and who's been regularly named in the best in the reserves. But I suspect it will depend on what role they want the McGlynn replacement to play. If they identify pace, forward line pressure and goal sneaking as the main gap to be filled, wouldn't be surprised to see Rohan a go.

I meant same, but opposite - if that makes sense. ie HBF pushing up to the HFF...I've gotten that just from reading, not watching - so may be wrong.

Vespa, just ahead of Riders of Rohan.

I voted for Smiffy. He doesn't look out of place in the midfield if required. Not so much of fwd but maybe McVeigh can move between Fwd's and Mids and Smith can move between Mids and backs. I really have no clue, I just think this is who they will bring in.
Rohan would be exciting but I am thinking Roos is looking for someone who can play the next 21 games straight if possible. Not a time to be trialling two first years?

There is no guarantee Mattner will play, so there is still a chance for Smith.
