I think we are a really good chance to win this one.
We match up quite well against them particularly forward. As wee saw last week they are vulnerable to tall forwards and we're swimming in them now.
Bradshaw, Goodes, White and Rohan are all over 190cm tall, however goodes and rohan are so agile they are good when the ball hits the ground. If we can get the ball moving quickly i think our forwards could dominate especially with McFarlan out. Though this advantage could be mitigated if the game is wet. If it is wet mcglynn is a huge in his ability to go hard at the ball and win contested processions is essential in wet weather footy.Comment

I watched all of the Pies v Freo game last week. Yes it was in WA, but pies had to play really intense footy to beat them. I hadn't seen Freo play this year before that game, so I was wondering 'how can they be doing so well?' But they're a very good team this year. One thing I noticed was that Sandilands was often just punching the ball as far forward as possible (and what a punch!) So I wouldn't be surpised if he tried the same tactic on the much smaller SCG. He could punch into our 50 without too much trouble.follow me on twitterComment

One of my Collingwood mates thought his team had a fair bit of luck against Freo. On form Freo should win fairly easily if the Swans of the last two weeks turns up to play. If Roos has no plan to combat Sandilands or to shark his tap outs we will get murdered. I still remember him not tagging Ablett. Selections will be important and it is hard to give an opinion until we see the team.Comment

Taking a cup half full approach, perhaps our fumbling with the ball over the last fortnight is good prep for a slippery, wet contest! Prior to the last fortnight, our ball handling and use was waaaaay up on last year, but we've had the fumbles a bit of late.
We haven't been great in the wet in recent seasons, but doubt Freo are much good in it either.Comment

Yeah The Reg for sure when The Pav is forward.
I should've been more specific, Mattner to follow him on-ball. A potential bonus: if he's floating around the middle/ our forward line, pass of to him for a shot from outside fifty. Not that our players ever seem to think of doing that with any player.Comment

Michael Johnson stood down until further notice.
Fremantle suspends Johnson indefinitely - AFL.com.au
Probably means the return of Swans fan Kepler Bradley.Comment

Not confident. However, you never know.
In the scheme of my personal hope that Sydney win 50% of their games from Rounds 6 to 13, (leaving them a healthy 8 and 5, with some easy games immediately ahead), it is very important game. Fingers crossed that surely Mike Pike and Gary Rohan will have improved, and McGlynn and Bradshaw should be back.
Oh one other point, I wonder what Sandlilands and Pavlich are eating on the plane trip across. Did anyone see the movie "Flying High"?Comment

If we can contain Barlow and Pavlich we are a very good chance. I'd like to see White return to the forward line, assuming Bradshaw and McGlynn play and that should restore structure to the Forward Line. Not sure who would play second fiddle to Pikey and does it really matter with a presence like Sandilands?Comment
