What game were you watching? White played his best game of the year today, he was busting packs, bringing the ball the ground, moving well, and he kicked 3 very important goals.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

As a forward he should be wining most 1 on 1 contests.Comment

I have never been a Bolton fan and think that Kirk is probably the most overrated Swan of all time BUT they are leaders of the club, both on and off the field. Veterans are just as important in a rebuilding phase as the youngsters being developed. Jude should have been punted 5 years ago - another 6 months is not going to hurt and to be honest, getting rid of either of them now would do more harm than good.
And i agree with Barry.Comment

And if we'd had as many inside F50s as Hawthorn White could easily have had an extra goal or two.He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

Originally posted by Melbourne_BloodNot all forwards are great with one on one situations. Along with that, not all defenders are bad with it. In fact a lot of them are very good at it. I think a defender would rather it coming in one on one than put into space for a forward to run onto. Don't think you can really say forwards should win most one on one contests. If they can get their share their probably doing well.Comment

Lol, you actually expect him to win the majority of 1 on 1 contests? If he did that he'd be kicking 8 a game! No forward does that!Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

Does RWO have some kind of random post generator that each week throws out names of players who have to be dropped?
Kirk and Bolton made more tackles than anyone on the field yesterday - 19 between them, more than a fifth of the team's entire tackle count. Kirk kept Mitchell out of the game in the first half, where he had just eight touches.
I'm not sure why we would want to do away with that kind of defensive pressure. The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

Thought White was pretty good, given it was his first game at FF for the year. I think people forget that he hasn't even played 30 games yet. He's coming along nicely.Bloods

Re Jesse: he is not a natural reader of the game...simple as that. We know what he has been instructed to do, be a problem to the other team, he is solid enough for that, and that releases some of our lighter built guys to scoot in and under. That is still a developing side of the game plan, and it differs when Braddy is in the side. The job description changes with the changes in our players, their size, ability etc. Jesse is not MickyO, nor is he Plugger. He is Jesse. He is learning, and he is getting better, and he is strong. Witness the goals he kicked that he not all that long ago wouldn't have had a hope of lining up properly, let along in a swirling wind.If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

I stated before the season started that Kirk should have retired. As great as he has been old father time has caught up with him he will continue to put his body on the line but even someone as slow as Sam Mitchell was able to run off him a couple of times yesterday.
Agree with you Barry about White at times he looked really good other times he didn't even look interested as for Keiran Jack they might as well chop his right foot and arm off, got caught at least 3 times on his right side twice resulting in shots on goal like to many left footers has not got a clue on that side of his body.Comment

With the Midfield getting smashed each week one wonders if Roosy is prepared to sacrifice our season by continuing to play Bolton and Kirk in major midfield roles. The fairytale ending is just a pipe dream now and maybe we should be moving on while there is still a chance of playing finals.Comment

I think both should have been rested for a week after the Brisbane game. I was hoping ROK may have come good for Sunday's game but he is still feeling the effects by the looks and well Jude just wasn't there. I think they should rest Kennedy after his clash in the last quarter.Comment

I'm speechless. Seriously some of you people need to read the dribble you post.
Bolton should have gone 5 years ago? game over pal, you are a spud.
Kirk will be the first to put his hand up and say he's not winning his match ups and he is letting the team down, and sit himself out.
Disapointing day, we were murdered in the mid field clearance wise. Skills weren't clean in the first half.
The wind was a factor, swirly and up and down, which beneifted us more than not ( hawthorns misses).
All in all i was happy enough. we aren't top 4, and wtih the inexperience out there, and key injuries I thought we showed alot of promise with our fight back.
Once again Playfair compted and did his job, enjoy the 3rd chance and a bit of redemption Henry! Pyke I thought was more than serviceable as well. I won't bung on about the rest of the players, as they get done to death for good reason (Hanners you star)
Things could have been very different:
with jesse not shoving the backmen when the ball was going to clear them both and he could have run onto it.
shaw kicks the goal.
goodes makes it 2.4
McVeigh's head high hit picked up on.
etc.
very close to being a very different atmosphere on here.Comment
