And using the "i bet you wouldn't say that to his face" line is a total red herring
It wasn't a courageous act at all. It was illegal, negligent and probably intentional although players have mini seconds to make such a decision. Many players make bad, decisions like this and get pinged for them. It doesn't make the "gutless snipers" the charge levelled against Brown. The act itself could be called " a gutless act" but to describe Brown the player as a gutless sniper is way too harsh and too much of a generalisation and also just plain wrong.

Unless Brown is totally ignorant, ( a possibility) he already knows he's a gutless sniper.
If he is a gutless sniper as you say then in the sanitized would that is AFL football his judiciary record would be horrendous wouldn't it?

Brown's effort on Saturday reminded me of North's David King sliding into Craig O'Brien in the 1996 Grand Final, a dirty and deliberate attempt to injure, can't the believe the commentary team made no comment on Brown's filthy bit of play.

A cowardly act that seems characteristic of some players at that club. Again unpunished. Swans seem to be fair game for maiming according to the match review panel/umpires/commentators.

Football karma that he is out for so long with a knee injury.
We have them where we want them, everything is going according to plan!

A case of the pot calling the kettle?
RWOers might recall back in round 22 of 2009 when Matthew Lloyd took out Brad Sewell and subsequently received a suspension that he never had to serve because of his (Lloyd's) retirement. At the time, Campbell Brown called Lloyd "one of the biggest snipers in the game".
            I agree with others....sweet justice.

Totally agree that Brown is a gutless sniper...would say so to his face quite happily....the amusing thing was all his name calling to Lloyd...Kettle.....Black....Pot

Brown is one of those players who is truly interested in hurting blokes if he can and happy to do it when said bloke is defenseless. i wouldn't want him on my team, don't rate him as a player at all. No braver than Ted or a myriad of others....just has better spin doctors.

King was one of the players I respected least in all the AFL.....remember clearly him scoring a sealer which he was gifted by another player to kick from the goal line, then he ran up to an opponent and started screaming in his face and going off his tree.....the opposition kid was in his first game.....what a ****ing tosser, talk about complete lack of class......I can just see Hirdy, or Mickey O doing that (Not!)

On the "saying it to his face thing" the question has to be thought of in terms of the fact that, although we don't know him, we suspect that he is an immature baby who likes to solve criticism with violence like a petulant 4 year old.....and he would probably beat me in a fight....I would say these things to his face though...I'd just speak in very measured tones and do it on national television :-)

                      hehe....

on another note, I saw him once on an AFL programme, I think it was Game Day on Ch 7, and he did a fantastic call of the last 200 m of a horse race in which one of his horses was running (they asked him to do a call against a replay of the last bit of the race). Although you want to dislike him, they sometimes show a completely different side of themselves when they do something like that.

It's all very prophetic for those who were at the last after match in Sydney.

Joey Kennedy was asked by Fosdike who he would like to 'give one to' in the Hawks lineup the following week. He skirted around the question until forced to admit he'd get pleasure out of fixing up Campbell Brown. Fossie said something along the lines of 'Wow, tough guy Brown'. Kennedy just smiled and said 'I know him pretty well ... and he aint that tough'

.......................These accusations are easy to write when you don't have to front up to the person .If you did have to front up,then we might see who the gutless one really is..............................

I am quite happy to tell him to his face that I thought that his knees into ROK's face was dirty play. He'd probably mistake it for a compliment and offer to buy me a beer.

He'd probably look at you and think 'WTF you on about?'

The knee was apparently in his hip, looked like it got him square in his backside to me though. Definitely not anywhere near his face
