Sydney Swans Reserves v Tuggeranong
Sunday 6th June 2010 12.00pm
Greenway Oval
NOTE: This game has been moved from its original location of the SCG to Greenway Oval in Canberra due to the rain.
Ladder
Note: Eastlake and Tuggeranong have played one game less due to the postponement of their game last weekend.
Past Meetings
2010
R3 Tuggeranong 22.12 (144) defeated Reserves 13.13 (91) @ Greenway Oval
A depleted Swans side of only 12 listed players and 20 in total fell away in the last quarter to suffer their only loss to date. Trent Dennis-Lane led the way with 3 goals while Campbell Heath, Daniel Currie and Dylan McNeil were named as the Swans' best players
2009
R4 Tuggeranong 20.10 (130) defeated Reserves 18.9 (117) @ Dairy Farmers Park
R9 Tuggeranong 15.16 (106) defeated Reserves 9.12 (66) @ Greenway Oval
R14 Reserves 27.12 (174) defeated Tuggeranong 15.13 (103) @ Sydney Cricket Ground
R18 Reserves 22.7 (139) defeated Tuggeranong 19.14 (128) @ ANZ Stadium
Recent Form
Reserves - WWLWD
Tuggeranong - WLWLP (postponed)
Last Round
Ainslie 6.14 (50) drew with Reserves 7.8 (50)
In wet and windy conditions, Ainslie pegged back a 7 point three quarter time deficit to finish level at the final siren. Brett Meredith was easily the Swans standout with 3 goals and a BOG performance. Daniel Currie continued his strong form rucking the whole day.
Tuggeranong's game with Eastlake was postponed due to the weather.
Team List
Listed players
In: McGlynn, Moore (return from injury), Richards (non-playing senior emergency), Heath (senior demotion)
Out: Craig Bird (senior promotion)
It's a very short stay for Bird in the reserves, one week enough to convince the coaches of his fitness and worth to the senior team. 5 ins from last week significantly strengthen the team, although I believe this team list was released before the game was moved and hence one of the emergencies will miss this game as they will stay in Sydney to cover for any late injuries (Edit: MOD is this man). So we are unlikely to see the full complement of 18, which would have been the first time this year that that limit was reached. It will be interesting to see how McGlynn's time is managed after such a long period out of the game.
Scholarship Players
In: Kenny, Lynch
Out: Jay Lewis, Mitch May
If I recall correctly, these are the first games for Kenny and Lynch. Lynch is part of the NSW/ACT U18 Rams. It looks like he has been omitted for their match this weekend.
Top ups
Two familar faces in Crichton, who trained with the Swans pre-season, and Emery who has played quite a number of games as a top up. Both are bigger than your average skinny 16/17 year top up.

Prediction
Incredibly, the Hawks have beaten the Swans in their last 3 encounters in Canberra despite finishing bottom of the ladder. However, with such a strong squad at their disposal (17-18 listed players, 3 scholarship players and 2 bigger-than-usual topups) the Swans shouldn't have any trouble breaking this unexpected drought.

Talking points
- Will McGlynn finally get on the park?!
- How will Heath and O'Dwyer handle their demotion from the seniors?
- Can Currie continue to press his claims for a debut? His window of opportunity surely will end with the return of Seaby.
- Dennis-Lane went goalless last week in the wet, can he avoid another duck's egg?
