But i guess what i am really getting at is the consideration of whether he is a long way from where Podsiadly was at ten years ago ?

Pods was on Essendon's rookie list 10 years ago whereas Emery is not

Anyway we do have big Jessie and young Johnston in reserves both looking likely long-term key position forwards. Still it will be interesting to see if this Emery fella manages to develop further - keep him on the radar at least....

Being that Ive never seen him play , just arguing the point for the sake of it really . For all I know he could be more akin to Ryan OConner.

                Thanks Other Jesse.

Also nice to see that Nathan Gordon photo.....its a gem....has anyone sent him or the club a copy yet? I mean it is competition perfect imo.

Man...Reid must be someone's love-child....win by 100 points and he (a defender) STILL gets BOG. That's a few for the year. Maybe he's better than his top 10 brother!

He might well be. The Swans were very happy to pick him up in the draft. I think he was drafted before everyone else had a chance to have a good look at him. I've watched him play in the ressies and he certainly stands out much the same way as Goodes did when he was playing at that level.

Was he? The Swans commented after the draft that they were amazed he was still on the table when pick 38 came around. They had expected him to be drafted much earlier.

Perhaps the reason they won by 100 points was due to his performance?

My wishlist going into the draft included Gary Rohan, Reid and McNeil, but I didn't think we were a chance of getting Reid given the massive gap between our second and third picks. I expected Reid to go around 25 or so. I was VERY happy to see at pick 37 that Reid's name hadn't been called, and then even happier to see his name pop up at 38! I think there were questions over his application and consistency, but he seems to have adjusted to the professional environment very well. Looks like we got a genuine bargain on our hands.

I mean, look at the width of his shoulders! When he fills out, he will be a very, VERY strong player.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

If all those guys can live up to their potential - that's going to be an awesome spine.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.
