Yes, the Mattner ball was over the line but he coughed it straight up which given how they were smashed at the clearances was a much better result for them than a boundary throw in. Bomber fans suggest that's the worst umpiring perforamance they've ever seen - I think they don't realise how good they get it.
100% agree. The bombouts fans need to get out more often and watch other teams! Hirdy's 20k has seen them looked after ever since (apart from yesterday, mysteriously)!

Haven't been through the whole thread but Rohan must be short odds to get the Rising Star nom this week.

Gysberts from Melbourne perhaps the main rival.

How would you rate the overall games of Mattner and Malceski? The closest I got to the game was the ABC commentary and from that you got the impression that Mattner was about as useful or useless as Ted often is but nothing to suggest that Malceski was having a howler. From comments posted here I am wondering if Malceski was the one doing the kick-ins that came back faster than they went out?

Neither were great that's for sure.

And I think our kicking in is actually getting worse. Wasn't sure that was possible but it's happening.

I thought Malceski was great, to be honest. He wasn't quite as good as usual on the counter attack, and he lost an aerial contest to Jetta he really should have spoiled, but countless times he was cleaning up dangerous spillages across half back and cleared the ball effectively, especially in the last quarter. In the wet, his ability to pick the ball up and clear were vital. It was a very rough-around-the-edges game, and he made a couple of errors, but he was very effective I thought.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

I didn't think Eski was terrible either. Not his best game, but far from the worst.

                Gysberts apparently had a blinder.

No, I couldn't believe it considering we had both McMorons out there (McClaren & McBurney).
Sorry I couldn't be there but I flew back in from Fiji on Sunday morning. Got home in time to watch the last 3 quarters on TV.
Gutsy, hard fought win in atrocious conditions which actually made me glad I wasn't there.
Mummy and Jude were outsatnading all day.
Rohan looks like our best Draft pick for the the year. ( Sorry Lewie J)
LRT was on fire at the back.

                      Good signs going forward.

Has no none mention how good it was to see Magic out there at the end of the game?

                        That was sweet.
