    Swans V Pies

The Swannies are already talking it up... http://www.sydneyswans.com.au/news/n...4/default.aspx

The last paragraph is interesting...do they really think they can break the 72,000 mark or is that just pie in the sky?

I would love to see a massive crowd but 50,000 seems more realistic.
    Swannies for life!

Or at least not get too humiliated. Anything below 12 points I'll claim as a moral victory.

Tell the Club they're dreaming in all areas. Would be lucky to break 45,000 for the Crowd and I'd say within 18 points would be a moral victory.

Collingwood has smashed us year after year both on the field and in the coaching box. Their game plan and game day coaching has been superior to ours. We can only hope to match them in intensity but I see no reason why we will not be smashed again on the score board. I anticipate a heavy loss, particularly with the conservative team selection that is getting us nowhere. What will be interesting will be:
Mumford versus Darren Who, Smith versus Didak, Kenelly on Medhurst, Reg on Cloke. We might be able to restrain their forwards but our forwards will not be able to kick a winning score, unless Bradshaw is back or we do a backflip in selection policy. At least this game will give the guys a chance to show who is prepared to put their hand up against a superior rated and superbly coached team and give it a red hot go.Miracles can happen!

That is VERY debatable! I have heard alot of pie supporters calling for malthouse to be gotten rid of, they dont like his game style etc and to put buckley in now. If he was a superb coach, he would of gotten them a flag in his 10 years or whatever it is there. Sure he has had success over at west coast, but I certainly would not say that malthouse is and has been a superb coach with collingwood.

He's kicked Roosey's butt everytime we have played them so what does that say about Roosey. I notice he always gets them up for the big games whereas the Swans nearly always dissappoint in the big games. I would not repeat the trash that Pies supporters talk.
They really don't have a clue!

There is no way more than 50,000 will there. I am a loyal Sydney based Swans supporter who has missed just one home game since 2002. And I'm still not particulary keen to watch yet another lost to Collingwood. (Although I will be there)

                    A lot of if's:
Bradshaw and McGlynn are back; we have the kind of ruck dominance we've had over the past two games; the older blokes lift for the challenge; Goodes has some form back; the small defenders are on their toes; our kicking for goal is more accurate than last week, such as reversing the numbers for goals and behinds.
IF we can do all these things, we can beat Collingwood. But I don't feel confident.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

This is Roosy's last chance to get one back on the pies. If i was him i would be doing everything possible to find a way to beat them.

Sure he has kicked roosy's butt of late, but does that really make him a superb coach!!??

You're not wrong there. I hate leaving ANZ Stadium year after year hearing the feral Pies supporters singing their song then have to put up with them on the train all the way back to the city too.
