Have a look at the ladder and you'll see a number of teamsvying for the final spots in the 8 have very inferior percentage so barring a long winning streak they may need to win one more game than us and Hawthorn to displace us.
What's really important now is that we beat those after our spots, bad luck we lost to the Hawks, but great that we beat Poor Power and Essendon. To preserve our superior %, we don't want any big losses from here.
Injuries play such a big part in every teams ability to win games so hopefully our bad run may be ending. Whilst C Bolton is hurting, the Seaby loss has been more than covered by the great form of Mummy and the improved Pyke. Moore is not really being misssed and Meredith looks to be up and going again. Lets hope Bradshaw can stay on the park an that Johnston continues to improve.
I think we are more capable of beating the sides above us than we showed a month ago if we have a better run with injuries. Let's start by beating the Pies next week, my prtner follows them and it costs me an expensive restaurant meal every time we lose. I want her to be paying this time!
Moved up one position on the ladder without even playing after Carlton's result last night. Slightly superior %. A bigger issue for Carlton will be the loss of Kreuzer. As Jewels indicated on the previsu post injuries do have a major influence. GO THE SWANNIES.
It's actually great for us that we play the only teams challenging us for that home final, Hawthorn at the SCG and Carlton at Etihad. We also play the only team close enough to steal our finals spot at the SCG (Kangaroos).
I'm not confident we'll beat the Pies, but considering how tight things are it'd be huge and basically guarantee us 5th/6th spot.
We can do an Elimination final. And with the kids coming through, I think that that will be fantastic. What a great result for the youngsters (for those who play in it).
As an Optimist, I can see us getting through to a Semi-final, which is even better (especially for the older blokes).
But, as a realist, I can't see us getting past this point. I'll be happy to be proven wrong though.
Nah, we'll be fine as long as we don't have to play a top 8 side.
Yep. Don't think we've beaten one of those since 2008.
"As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk
10 wins and a healthy % might even be enough to sneak into the 8 this year. The teams below us, hawks and north have some tough games coming up. I wouldnt expect either of them to win this round, so we must beat the tiges to get a bit of breathing space. Our home game against north in round 15 is also huge in the context of finals.
With the Hawks beating the Dogs last night we are back to 8th. Only the Roos underneath is the danger I think. Those two games coming up against the Roos and the Hawks are going to be crucial. It's going to be a tight run home I think. Every game is important but tomorrow needs to be a certainty to put us 3 games clear of North Melbourne.
