We actually poached Bolton, he was out of contract and wanted greater opportunity so we got him to skip the ND and put a large price on his head so those with earlier picks (Richmond were keen) could not afford him. Savy recruiting but I wouldn't consider it a great story

I wouldn't have thought so. Jolly leaving will end up being a great result for the club. We were well compensated with a first rounder (Jetta) and it also allowed us to chase Mumford.

Stevens is probably the only one of that group who blossomed after his departure into a fairly useful player and maybe should have been kept. Mind you, I can't recall what we got for him.

I think it was for 45 and then we swapped 31 for their 29. I don't know how the Swans managed to persuade the Crows to agree to that because they were pretty hot on Schmidt and we gazumped them with the swapped picks.

Stevens; Adelaide friend asked me about him and I said "great hands, can't run". Mid year he emailed me back in agreeance.

HOWEVER, the man put in a good game for us in the 2003 Port game, and that counts for a lot, and he has proven to be a good fit with Adelaide, so good on him.

Actually, from that list last weekend, Bazza kicked 6, Monty 3, Schneids 2 and Jolly and Stevens 1 each. Not a bad effort - seemed like every second goal on the Winners was kicked by an ex-Swan!
