I usually fly Virgin and Jetstar now. Cheaper than Qantas and for a bit more than you pay flying Tiger (so long as you book in reasonable advance) both are far more reliable and convenient.
I usually find Virgin, and then Qantas, seem to have the cheapest flights at the time the suits me, anyway.
