    Farewell Adam Goodes Thread

Ok, so it's not a farewell thread, but it's keeping in line with the weekly threads.
If the finger of blame is to go anywhere, I'd be asking - WTF is up with him?

His eff disposal % for this game was 38%, given he only had 13 touches, that equates to less than 5 effective disposal for the game.

He also has the 3rd lowest eff % with only the newbies, Jetta and Campell, worse than him @ 60.6%

Doesn't look like he is carrying an injury.
Appeared to move quite freely most of the night.

Even Pyke was above him in the Supercoach rankings, and Pyke only got 18.

Interesting to look at some of the big statistical gaps from last season:

        2009 (22 games) - 72 clearances, 72 tackles, 44 rebounds
        2010 (13 games) - 21 clearances, 28 tackles, 3 rebounds

Everything else is pretty much going at the same rate - except his clanger count is almost at the same number as last season from nine fewer games...

Those gaps could be explained by playing different roles (out of the contests much more), but not the clangers.

The problem is he is a Midfielder, not a kp forward and never will be. FFS Roosy put him back where he belongs.

Yeah I agree, it's fine for him to pinch hit in the forwardline to shake a tag or have a rest...but his best form has always been when he's on the ball, either as a ruck or ruck rover....Unfortunately Roos is a very stubborn coach, so he'll keep playing him forward, no matter what. Hopefully things will improve when Bradshaw takes some of the attention.

Agreed. The CHF experiment hasn't worked. Get Goodesy into the midfield and get TDL or LJ into the side.

Double yep to this. The only time I saw Goodesy do what he can was when he was in the middle. Time for TDL to do his thang.

Thanks for the stats update Scott. I've always been interested in TOG% and two numbers stand out. Kennedy 68% but he still finished with the highest number of possessions, and Brett Kirk 70% when he's been averaging about 80%.

Maybe he just needs to give the Rhesus Monkey a Staker style uppercut?

                        NP Ugg.
I think Kirk's tank is diminishing.
                        Kennedy is still building his.

Before I updated I noticed Goodes was 4th last in EFF%, but Rohan went past him after this game.

                          Shut up Scott.

I nearly DIED when I saw the thread heading.

You owe me hair colourant for the three greys I just popped!!!

Honestly, I think Goodesy is carrying an injury that he's not telling anyone about.

Either that, or he just needs a good, swift, kick up the arse.

He's been pretty bad lately, and it's getting worse. Unfortunately, if he's not performing, neither is the team.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

The last however many years Goodes has always been in with a chance for the Brownlow.

I can't see who the top Swans votegetter is going to be this year, certainly no Swans in the reckoning.
