The evaluation is not really premature - the season is 2/3 gone and we have a fair idea where we stand. We probably need three wins - and we only have two "easy" games left. That's why I was so disappointed v Richmond. But the need for desperation isn't a bad thing either - is there a worse sight that the Swans with cruise control on?

I'm heading down for the Blues game. That would be such a nice one to win and put them back in their box - as we did early last year.
Okay, so that one went through to the keeper.

Nah just didn't think the oft-invoked variation was worthy of comment or premature adulation, far less premature exaltation.

I would love to beat the Hawks at the SCG R19 Saturday afternoon game. Hawks are getting stronger by the week but this will be a terrific test. Need to get the Fortress SCG spirit back. Still think three out of the next seven would be a fair return and quite possible. Four would be good. Still an incredibly tough draw for our last seven.

As good as it is to still have our destiny firmly in our own hands, that Richmond loss will haunt us until we've won 3-4 more games. We had a chance to sew up a finals spot with 2 months to go and we stuffed it up big time.

So right, Deadly Akkuret. And all the results that weekend except the Hawks beating the Dogs had gone our way.

I truly hate close losses, and we can add the Hawthorn loss (with the Shaw missed goal), and the St Kilda loss (with the umpires providing more protection to Nick Riewodt than the Secret Service would to an American President), to the list. At least we have had one close win against the Bombers.

I would love to have cliff hanger victories against Carlton and Hawthorn later this season to even the ledger.
