Well I did say perhaps consider white, im unaware he even could of been injured....If fit I think he would be more value THIS week than a kid debuting in johnston, happy to be proved wrong though if johnston gets a go!

I dont think we really have a choice at the moment to just DROP players here and there, we dont have the depth for one. Who are you going to replace them with? Ok lets bring in 3-4 kids in the one game and watch how much we'll get beaten by. Re vespa, unless your apart of the inner sanctum of the club, it is hard to know why he was dropped. Could of been disciplinary reasons perhaps? Who knows?

While I hope we see Johnston some time this season, I think Richards gives us more versatility and experience in a critical game.
As one example, I'm struggling to see the role Shaw is currently providing other than clanger-in-chief and what part he has in our next premiership.

So Richards is going to the forwards to kick us a winning score over North's because he has height and experience. Yeah right!

So you want Johnston playing Shaw's role?

                  Let the meltdown begin!

Paul Bevan and Ted Richards will come in to replace Craig Bird (foot) and Henry Playfair (back), while Marty Mattner is also in doubt with a corked thigh sustained against Richmond.

From what I could tell when I saw them train the other day, Shaw appears to be in charge in the backline. He was certainly yelling lots of instructions and even criticisms during drills involving getting the ball out of defence. I think clangers or not, he's there for his leadership.....although, I must say, he was pretty brutal with his criticism of some of the younger players who made mistakes..I wonder who chastises him in a game when he stuffs up???

I think there has been a ghost edit. The site now says Meredith WILL play, with Mattner going out.
