Teddy is in to allow Reg to become our new gun CHF. This gives Goodes the freedom to play on the ball. It is a stroke of genius! [/tongue in cheek]

Persisted with White, debuted Jetta, Rohan and TDL. In addition we have Hanners and Smith who are regulars in the side. Bird was straight back in as soon as available. Meredith back in. Transformed Reg.
Bevan and Richards are no longer walk - ups, as it should be, they are depth players and right now we need to test them (depths that is) given our injury list.
I would have thought you would be feeling quite satisfied.Last edited by Lucky Knickers; 9 July 2010, 06:38 PM.Comment

You are pretty hard to please Robbo.

We are rebuilding so I think we should get rid of driftwood like Bevan and Richards. And I don't think he persisted with Rohan at all to be honest, he didn't deserve to be dropped a couple of weeks ago. But he ended up making way for a 30 year old. Again, Roos played it safe.
For a club which needs to rebuild it's list, I just find it frustrating that we are playing older blokes who are average at the best of times while we have promising youngsters with potential playing against plumbers and furniture salesmen in the Canberra amateurs.Comment

As I predicted in an earlier post. Pyke a walk up of course, TDL gets a second game after his nervous first game, two old stagers back in without bitzing it in the ressies - very predictable.
Meredith only in coz Mattner has gone down.
Looks like Vez and Johnston will be in the team really soon, hopefully not at TDL or Meredith's expense though. Good luck on Sunday to TDL and Meredith.Comment

You really think debuting (is that even a word?) Johnstone would bring more to the table than teddy or bevan at the scg? Roos has given Johnstone a whiff and I can definitely see him getting a call up this season.
Roos isn't a big risk taker when it comes to playing young kids at big games we need to win.....Comment

I'm not hard to please at all. The very best we can do this year is to scrape into 8th spot and then get done in the first week of the finals, so I think we should just take some risks and play the kids. Roos is playing it safe because I get the feeling he wants to get us to the finals in his final year, but he isn't looking at the big picture.

Do you think Roos should play a team with some serviceable but not inspired players in it to give us the best chance of a win - or should he play a team with more untried players if he thinks that team has considerable less chance of winning?
I love leaving the SCG after a win (even better if ORB buys me a beer at the aftermatch - is there one? Aftermatch, not beer, that is.) and personally, I'm happy if the coach's goal is to make that aspiration come true.Comment
