Was Mike Pyke robbed or was the decision to deny him the goal by the umpires fair?

It was the way he thought it through and went for the kick that impressed me.
He is becoming a footballer.Comment

Whether it was out or not doesnt really matter as it definately hit the post. But it was an awesome attempt and had it gone through ...Occupational hazards:
I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.Comment

... I would have been spitting chips because it definitely wasn't out. Ball has to be totally over the line and I'cve not seen one replay that has removed doubt that it was still in play.10100111001 ;-)Comment

The fact he even had a crack at that shot is enough for me. Two or three weeks ago, he would have left it to go out. I was impressed last week he didn't take the set shot, or even more likely, hand ball off; but instead saw his opportunity and played on for the goal (which, again he wouldn't have done a few weeks back), but that shot is awesome. If he'd pulled that off, every other player in the comp would just take easy set shots for the rest of the year, as Pyke would have GOTY wrapped up.Comment

I loved the quick reflex that provided us with the spectacle. It was brilliant and we went Off!! And And! it hit the back of the padding. Does that count as hitting the post? Huh? "Apparently" having his foot over the line when he kicked counts as Out......new rule as far as I am concerned, or is it one that doesn't get used much.....
He did some really good stuff and is looking better and better, and bigger and bigger.Last edited by Primmy; 12 July 2010, 07:55 AM.If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Thrilling little passage that - big mark, quick look, beautifully weighted kick, top grab by Goodes, GOAL!He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

Best sign of the match. Maybe it was because it was junk-time in the last quarter when the match was already won, but he aced that kick to the leading forward. We all know he can kick, this is a confidence thang.10100111001 ;-)Comment

I feel a little cruel pointing it out but apparently he was deemed to have put a foot out of bounds
