Would be a great media man for the club. He and Crouchie would make a great pair, doing tag team interviews with players just reported on ground. On the other hand, can't see him doing any plumbers job at the club, too many leaks.

Seriously I just can believe that noting Aker's age, recent form, and his repeated history of having serious falling outs with players and coaches alike, that contributers to this Fan Site apparently seriously believes that he would be an asset to the club as a player! With all due respects, the mind boggers! How about seeking to draft Wayne Carey? Or what about Gary Ablett SENIOR?

I agree with BSA5, apart from the bit about playing next year - I'd be absolutely staggered if anyone takes him on.

Last year I might even have taken him as an assistant coach because he has a heck of a lot to offer in footy knowledge, but gee he is now spoiled goods and even a coaching spot looks remote. You never know though, put him in charge and he may be the complete reverse. I think he would probably be a very daring and inspiring coach.

Aker is a controversial figure, but he's a harmless one. He's not like Fev, getting smashed and ruining his life with gambling, that sort of thing.

Exactly! He's always been able to walk the walk as well as talking the talk. Have never questioned his on-field attitude or commitment. But given the way we handled the whole Nick Davis thing I'm not sure if he would have fit in at the Swans - we don't seem to favour loose cannons, somehow. It's a bit late now, as he's past his prime anyway.

One thing I love about the Swans is the fact that they wouldn't consider Aker. Ever. He is a tool and has, thankfully, been someone else's problem.

AKker is more trouble than he is worth, 'Good Riddance to bad rubbish' I say. That anti gay comment was the last straw for me. He shoots off his mouth before his brain has woken up! As a footballer he has lost a lot of pace & is on last legs & I wouldn't bother, pick up a good junior who is going to be around to help us win premierships not a has been who basks in the glory of old premierships.

No. Not for the controversy reasons but he's past his best and not what we're looking for. We picked up a veteran player in Bradshaw but that was for a key position. Aker doesn't do that for us. If he is to get another run, the only place it'll be is at the Gold Coast Suns.
