Yep probably deserves his spot this week I'd be looking at resting McVeigh or Kenelley and or dropping Moore and Richards

The will be reluctant to drop richards if LRT is not ready. It may have worked against a small side like Carlton but not likely against Geelong.

It looks like Lewis is a possibly going to get his Geelong Baptism if the fluff article on him is anything to go by, so interesting to see the ins and outs but wouldnt hurt to rest any injured players (ala ROK and McVeigh) as liklihood of winning is low anyway.

Will anything work for us against Geelong or are looking to just minimise the damage

Last year the young Swans nearly surprised the Cats so you never know. The Crows did the trick a fortnight ago. Giving up in advance doesn't seem a productive way to move forward (thanks Jules).

We're not the young swans at the moment

Over the last few years weve "nearly suprised them", "been close at three quarter time" , "gone with them for a few quarters" but I dont think there is truly a self belief in the swans team at the moment that they can overcome the likes of Geelong. It always seems to me that we do tend to give it a red hot go but as soon as Geelong or Collingwood or Bulldogs etc start to get on top , our guys go " well we gave it a shot but they are a better team than us". It really hasnt been since 2005/2006 that I have felt that we have the mental ascendency to believe we can beat anyone (except Adelaide) and win tight games.

Yeah, Bevan "quelled" the influence of Brad Green last week except he ended up kicking 5.

Richards started on Green, and that's when Green did most of the damage. When Bevo went on him Green was barely heard from again.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

Has the fact he already had 4 when Bevo was moved onto him been lost on you Robbo?

Got a sore leg from kicking too many goals

does anyone else think that our backline is too small against the geelong forwards. With pods, mooney, hawkins and ottens al rotating through there forward line often playing a 3 tall structure richards and grundy will need some help from another tall defender. I doubt that mattner or bevan can really play on their talls.

because of this i think tht sam reid could be a sneaky chance to make a debut after being in really good form recently in the 2's

If things are getting ugly and Goodes is having no major influence he might have to go back there!

The team last year would certainly have been older than the team we'll field this year.

Kids like Hanners and Nic have moved from being fill ins to be regulars in the 22 while the next lot like Rohan and Meredith have come in. Of course we did draft a few geriatric seniors like McGlynn, Mummy and Kennedy to maintain our venerable tag in the simplistic Hun (and West Australian), I guess.
