Red Zone at SCG - Guest Pass

Does anyone know the options re: guest passes for the Red Zone at the SCG?

As an AFL Member with Swans support I normally just swipe in when travelling up for games on my own, but this week I'm coming up for the Hawthorn game with my other half, so would preferably get her in to the Red Zone in the Noble so we can sit together.

It seems easy to get a guest pass if I was a Sydney-based member with the same access to the Noble. Although unless I'm missing something, I need to spend $100+ buying two reserved seats elsewhere to be able to sit with a guest? [EDIT: spend that to get anything like a decent seat]

Happy for anyone to PM me with any advice.

We rang both the syd and melb offices only to be told that we couldnt??? Which I found hard to believe, but that is the case I suppose. Does anyone know if you can enter the red zone and then access other seating areas of the ground
without having to exit or get a passout?

You can usually move around once the game has started. Only place you really can't get into is the Members or Ladies stand.

So long as you're not sitting in a latecomer's seat ... you should be right to move.

Thanks will do that. Just another question, if we move around to say the stand on the right behind goals when watching on TV (not sure what it is called but ive sat there before), do you know if we can then obtain a passout to meet our guest outside of the ground? Or would they have to purchase a ticket and meet us inside?

Or into the Red Zone, if you don't have a Red Zone membership. Scott and I tried to go there during half-time of a reserves game a few matches back, to meet up with the RWO regulars who frequent that part of the ground. But despite pointing out that we had reserved seats on the wing in the O'Reilly and had no intention of staying in the Red Zone for the rest of the afternoon, we were not allowed to cross the hallowed boundary.

I don't think you can move out of the Red Zone either into the other parts of the ground, from my past experiences. So if two people wanted to meet up, one from the Red Zone and the other from non-Red Zone, you would to conduct your conversations across the divide, similar to what I'd imagine separated Korean family members would have to do across the North-South divide.

I thought you could buy Member's Guest Passes from Ticketek for the Red Zone. $39 each from memory.

Steve, I'm an AFL member with Swans Club support. I also have a reserved seat in the Brewongle.

I can tell you with 100% accuracy that the only place you can sit is in the General Public section of the SCG which is under the Victor Trumper Stand. That is the new stand to the right of the tele as you watch games in Sydney. You can enter through Gate E as they now allow you to. I would get there early buy your partner a general admin ticket at the ground (about $21 I think) and get a seat and watch the ressies. You will naturally get in for free with your membership. You can always move closer to the cheer squad at about 1/4 time once you assess which seats are empty.

The Red Zone is all unreserved seating and the only members that can get a ticket pass to that area is someone who sits in that area. I can't buy a ticket for a friend in that area as I sit in the Brewongle. Strange rule but that's the way it is.

No you need to enter a membership number and if it's not a red zone member you don't get a ticket.

Howver, at ANZ is a completely different story. Anyone can sit in the Red Zone area as they don't check on the doorways where you sit, they only do that upstairs.

I too am coming to Sydney this weekend for the game with my two daughters. We are all Vic members with Red Zone access. I have come alone before and just sat in front of the old members stand. What other areas of the ground are considered the Red Zone?

Also, How much does Moore Park parking cost?

Last time I caught the train and then got slugged some unreasonable amount to ride a bus up the hill. Multiplying that PT cost by three might make it more economical to drive the renta in. What do the locals do to get to the ground?

For a good seat, get there early and enjoy the reserves game. Park in Centennial Park. It is free and short walk to SCG. Where are you staying?
