About time this was brought up. Swans play their best football at the SCG. Their playing style is designed with the dementions of the SCG in mind.
Is he talking about RWOer's there?

Last week people were calling for roosy's head FFS, where are they now? Now we are talking home finals??? Funny what a win can do I suppose.
If this was Roos or Andrew Ireland canvassing the players on where they would like to play a home final, if earnt, than I'd agree, a little ridiculous.

          But this is a fansite.

          Fair difference I'd reckon.

Our survey is at least more informative than the SMH one:

Poll: Would you rather watch the Swans play a final at ANZ Stadium or the SCG?

              1. Yes
              2. No

Good on ya Colless. Telling it like it is.

"That's something peddled by pro-SCG supporters," Colles said. "There are over four million people living in Sydney and half of them find it very hard to get to the SCG.

"If the SCG had access by public transport, if the pedestrian flow was better and people didn't get stuck in car parks, it might be a bit different.

"The SCG precinct is old and tired. It's a very, very antiquated precinct.

"You have to look at these things over a long haul.

"The biggest crowds outside of Melbourne have been at ANZ Stadium and the game has been exposed to tens of thousands of people who would never have been able to see a Swans game live."

Yet more fans consistently attend our home games at Homebush. Go figure.

It's so disappointing to hear and read that so called fans of our great club will not support our club come finals time because of the venue. How embarrassing.

Well, if that's true, the club is probably better off letting people like that go, and start looking for more genuine supporters, who'll support the team wherever we play.

There's not much point in calling yourself a supporter if you're going to boycott the club for whatever reason during finals. It's ridiculous.

I don't agree with your claim that consistently more fans attend our ANZ games than our SCG games. With the exception of Collingwood, we haven't had a really big crowd there since the 2008 season. Could be a reflection of our crap form since that time but could also be a reflection of people turning off the venue. You like it, that's fine but respect the fact that there are many out there that don't.
I guess we should agree to disagree!
I will be attending any finals we play, whether it be ANZ, Subiaco, MCG, wherever, but I when I renew my membership next year, I'm only taking the SCG option.
As Gerard Healy said last night on ONC, the SCG IS our home ground.

                            - Roos said he enjoyed the team playing at ANZ, and so did the players, adding they had a good finals record at the venue, and disagreed the SCG with its smaller dimensions was a greater advantage to them.

When contacted about the matter yesterday, a spokesman for ANZ Stadium said it ''enjoys a successful, long-term relationship with the Swans and the AFL, and the deal runs through until the 2016 season''.

The AFL's only comment on the matter was simply that it is ''in discussions with ANZ Stadium management about the possibility of a Sydney home final in the first week of the finals series". -

Well, I voted SCG. I might be swayed back to ANZ by the fact that the Swans have a 75% winning record at Stadium Oz. Granted we have only played 4 finals there, but that is besides the point.

Strewth, have we turned into Saints fans over night? A week ago, the angry mob was arguing how quickly we could escort Roos and his hopeless jokes off the premises, now we're arguing about where to play a home final?

You mob are kidding yourselves. Next there will be a poll on the design for our grand final T-shirts!
