People that know his family saying that his parents really appreciate the lengths Sydney went to to balance school with footy, that he has slotted in really well, that he's happy. And yes, this is through BigFooty/RWO, but that's just the messenger. It isn't concrete evidence by any means, but there's very little to suggest he'll be leaving. In all likelihood, his manager is just waiting until the end of the year before negotiating a new contract. Whether Hanners wins the Rising Star or not, and how he performs in the finals, could well have an impact.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

Like all new recruits, he signed a two-year deal.
I'm pretty sure Teddy said that he'd resigned.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

dont do that to the poor kid- I'm old enough to be his mother!!!

Hid did really well - and is showing maturity beyond his years on the field - and is proving to be a tough nut - we like that in our players! Keep it up Hanners - you are doing us all proud.

Out of interest how much would a contract like that be worth for a 19 year old?

This kid is amazing and I cannot believe he fell to pick 30 in the 2008 draft. The weagles took Tom Swift at pick 20. lolololololol

Great news! I spend too much time, after thinking of the really promising players coming up, worrying which ones are going to get snapped up by GWS or whoever. I sleep a little better with every contract signed.

Yeah, if I ever catch myself ogling a footy player, I remind myself of the ages of my collected nieces and nephews who are older than many of them, and cringe. Bill Wyman I am not.
