Congratulations- The Swans are 2010 Finalists.

With the Saints 40 points up over the Roos 20 mins into the last quarter it means we are 2 games + % clear of 9th... so we can lose the next two games by 10 goals, Roos can win their next two games by 10 goals and we'll still finish 8th.

It's official - we have made the finals.

A little celebration as the Saints trounce North, thereby guaranteeing us a finals berth. May all the doubters eat humble pie. Our team, of whom I am immensely proud, has proven that it's possible through smart recruiting and maximising the potential of your list to make the finals during a period of generational change without having to finish down the bottom of the ladder for a few seasons.

    Go you Swannies!!

Very exciting. Let's hope we can secure a home final now and avoid another trip to Perth.

Just did the ladder prediction thing on afl.com.au and had us lose next week but beat Brisbane, which if other results go as expected, would give us a home final against Hawthorn. Fingers crossed.

I took a negative route for the remainder and had us playing Hawks at the MCG then sweeping all before us and playing the dogs on the last day in September!

What makes it very pleasing is this Finals appearance is that it represents 12 appearances in 15 seasons, by far the best of the 16 clubs for the same period. (Second best is Adelaide with 10 appearances).

Also: since the spoon year of 1994, the Swans have never finished in the bottom 4, and only once
(2009) had a percentage of less than 100.

Exactly the scenario I got as well. We also play the Cats in the GF

I am so grateful that I am experiencing the continued Golden Era of our club (1996 to ?). 12 out of 15 seasons in the finals, three grand finals, a premiership (so very nearly two) and a minor premiership. I'll take this moment to raise my glass of red (who has a white?) in honor of what this club has achieved during this time after it so very nearly became extinct, and make a wish that we may enjoy many more years of similar success.

                    Cheer, cheer!!

Cruiser is feeling the love tonight. Must be all the illegal smoking smoke wafting over his place from Woy Woy.

I was just about to post the same thing until I saw I had been beaten to it.

Now importantly is where we finish. At least the Coach and Captain get at minimum one last final finals fling.

So immensely proud of our lads tonight! At the conclusion of last season we had 3 significant retirements and it was looking like a few years in the bottom half of the ladder. However (should we really have doubted?) but to the clubs', coaches' and players' credit they have achieved finals in 2010!

To make it even more significant is the majority of the season has been played without our number 1 fullback (Bolts), 2nd ruckman (Seaby) and number 1 forward (Bradshaw). Many other sides would have capitulated with the those types of injuries to key players.

We have witnessed the rise of Dan Hannerbery, Lewis Jetta including his first memorable goal, Gary Rohan and the improvement in Pyke, Grundy, Jack, Mumford and Malceski.

It all now points to a memorable crowd and atmosphere on Saturday night at the SCG. Hopefully we will see a bumper crowd and most importantly a Swannies victory!

                          Go Swannies!

I'd add Keiran Jack and Shane Mumford to that group.
