Macca or ROK for mine. Or, as others have suggested, just stick with the two.
Jude is a genuine Blood, but as the OP said, maybe a little tokenistic. Hanners and Jack are too young. The leadership group beckons them both, and they are certainly future leaders/captains of the club, but not just yet. I'd be very surprised if Jack isn't elevated to the leadership group for 2011, Hanners would probably have to wait until the year after.

Jude for mine. Funnily enough I'm being a bit influenced by form...both Macca and ROK have been below their best this year. Jude has had his best season ever IMHO. More impressively he has turned around a slowly sinking ship. Should be rewarded.

As much as I think Jude deserves it, it needs to be a youngster on the rise, and who has risen more than this guy.
Easily the most improved over the 12 months, and easily one of our most important players.
Stands up when needed, kicks those vital goals, most of which seem to be snaps.

I'm old school and have never liked the multiple captain strategy but if they continue with it my money would be on Jude.

Sorry I actually did miss that part.

I don't necessarily agree we have no clue on who is a voice or mentor. It's pretty clear to me and others that Hanners has a LOT more to say on the field then the average 19yo 'junior' player. His constant revving up and encouragement of teammates along with just his general body language suggest he has leadership material written all over him.

I have far more of an issue when the likes of Bevo and Mathews before him get constantly smashed on RWO for consistently getting games, when it's obvious that the coaching staff have asked them to do a job and they obviously have carried out that job, hence keep their place.

That's the type of thing that us guys looking in from the outside have no clue about.

I hear you, but you can't help the nuffy's. Calling For Kirks and Judes Retirements early this season, howling that Roos was not interested and shouldn't have coached this year. It's ok, they must enjoy egg. Bevo can have his off weeks, and the club can drop him, but I think his consistency is not that far off Goodes, obviously he doesn't have anywhere near the impact as him, but he is a great asset to our team.

Jude has really acted as a club captain this season, with C.Bolts unable to play for much of the season and with the injuries and so many new players and rookies on the team, Jude has stepped in and done whatever he could do to lead shape, and inspire the team.

I know having three older players as captain may be unpopular but Jude really does deserve the spot

Otherwise is they do go for a third captain and want a younger player McVeigh has definately taken on his share of the burden to rally the team

It may be interesting which way Horse goes.

If he is sort of neither here nor there about the multiple captain idea, he may use the opportunity to go back to one captain as a chance to put his own stamp on things in an effort to move out of the huge shadow of Roosy and change things up just for the sake of it.

Really hard to make a pick because nobody here knows the players.
They know how they play football, and to be a Captain, I'd say that they should be in the top 10 players in the side.
But that is only half the criteria.
I depends on how a player leads, and how he is regarded by the rest of the playing group.

Maybe Jude can't make an inspirational speech.
Maybe there is still ROK resentment with him wanting to leave amongst the players.
who knows?
Only the club, and they'll select a player who has everything they are looking for.
