    "In the Void"

AFL 360 just lost some credibility when David King just listed the Swans as being amongst a group of mid level teams not going anywhere or "in the void". What a dick. We've only gone up from 12th last year to 5th so far this year. I'd call that "On the Up".

Did the pinhead say why and did anyone take him to task??
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

No, that's what made it even worse. They just kinda nodded their heads about the group of teams he had listed as being "in the void" and only McClure said something about Sydney being in the 8 again.

And this is after one of your young players has just won Rising Star! I'm sure our average age has dropped from last year meaning that we're moving towards a younger group. This is seen as being desirable when rebuilding. To do that without bottoming, in fact the reverse happened this year, should say a lot. What did he say about the Kangaroos? I suppose he was upbeat about them!!

It was sort of weird. They had just spent the first half of the show pumping up Sydney's tyres. McClure said that Kizza was the form player of the whole competition and should be AA, everybody agreed we would beat Carlton and probably the Dogs, it was praise, praise, praise, then the list...lol

King probably still has a bit of pain from cartilage damage from sliding into OB's face.

Yeah, exactly right. I think they'll cringe when they look at it again.

The rest of the footy world didn't rate the 2005 team until they were forced to concede. It's kind of crap they think this way but makes the successes all the more sweet when they come around.

I suspect on that form King won't get an invite to join our coaching panel anytime soon.

David King has been an assistant coach at Richmond for the last 5 years. Need I say more? There is a has a massive void between his ears.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

We will always be an easy target for that opinion. Read James Hird's autobiography from early 2006 where he states 2005 was a one off...

Melbourne's footy media support the notion of bottoming out, the idea that we can continue to be competitive let alone a premiership threat without a period in the bottom four is just too much for the less analytical and educated footy minds of the great southern capital!

The seasoned professionals are excited by our list, and so am I, so I don't mind us being listed as not getting better or whatever. It's been the same for 10 years.

I hope we win the granny this year and get the opportunity to shove the cup up a few arses.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Its a bit like Shane Crawford when he is previewing a swans game, he always says the same thing over and over and over again, whether it be on 'the footy show' or on radio.

It always goes something like this...Brayshaw:"What do you think will happen in this game Shane? How will it all pan out?".....Crawford:"The swans will play their usual lock down style and try to strangle(insert team) from scoring as they've done for many years now....."

I kid you not, I can tell you what Crawford will say about the swans, when He's asked a question about us, before he does, he always trotts out the same line, like so many media people here in Melbourne do.

The most amazing thing I EVER heard any media personality say about the swans was back in 2006 by Billy Brownless. On morning radio, Billy, Tim Watson and Andy Maher were doing their regular breakfast radio program on SEN, and the topic at the time was 'premiership windows', i.e. which teams had their premiership windows open and which team had them closed. Tim Watson was asking Billy about all the teams, and Billy would say open or closed, well up came the swans and Billy says our premiership window is closed....half way through the 2006 season!!!!! My god, I couldn't believe what I was hearing!!!!, and no-one pulled him up on the fact that we won it in 2005!!!

Well that will prove his point. The list was in relation to teams that will find it hard to improve next year. If we win the flag, I dare say he'll be right to have us as a non-improver.
