The media is very poor in Victoria, except for Gerard! This morning on 3AW Sports report (I mean Geelong report), Jon Anderson said basically good luck to Dan, well done etc, then whinged that midfielders always get it and what about poor old Matty Scarlett?

WHAT ABOUT ALL THE WHINGEING BEFORE GARY ABLETT GOT HIS!! FFS!! What is Gary? A full forward?

Fox seem to have tried to beef up their midweek AFL content but both shows come across as very lightweight.
Really? I enjoy 360 as long as it doesn't just re-hash what the other shows are doing (watching footy shows can be a scary case of deja vu as the same clips and same commentary appears again and again). When they concentrate on the tactics and the behind the scenes stuff of a modern footy club, I find it excellent. Scott in particular is a bit of a revelation.

Insider is pretty @@@@e, what I imagine Melbourne radio must be like, tho Heatley deserves more airtime than he manages to scramble on "Before the Bounce".

Are you confusing 360 and Insider? Scott is on the panel of Insider, which I really enjoy for its insightful and often unique angle.

I didn't watch that bit. They seemed pretty positive about us before then. How good are these names for our future blood brothers: Jack, Hannebery, Jetta, Rohan, Reid, Dennis Lane, Bird, Grundy, Kennedy, Meredith, Moore, Mumford, Smith, White, McGlynn ... All current first graders under 25. Quite a few top players a year or so older and some of our best players (e.g. Goodes and ROK) still have a few good years yet. Who else has a list that is more promising than this? ... with the right mix of experience to ensure the youth develop things like culture? I'm happy for us to keep the secret for as long as possible.

There are a few good media personalities in Melbourne like Jason Dunstall for one, I love that interview where he ripped into Steven Quartermine.

I don't normally watch The Footy Show but last night I switched over and they were discussing our game. When it came to Sam Newman to give his tip he said he couldn't believe that we were in the 8 and that we weren't any good. Gary or Jim told him we had won 4 in a row but he still didn't care. Now of course I don't take anything Sam says seriously but that annoyed me.

Then this morning on Sport 927 they were discussing which team in the 8 would you like to win the premiership if your team couldn't win and which team you definitely didn't want to win. Tony Jones said he didn't want the Swans to win because the supporters in Sydney don't care. When Michael Christian brought up about what happened in 2005 Tony replied that 3 people and a dog turned up. Even though I live in Melbourne I still took offence at his comments. Of course the whole city isn't going to care but there are thousands of core supporters that are just as passionate as those that follow teams in Victoria. And us Melbourne based Swans supporters make enough noise when we play down here .

What a ignoramus little p@@@k! We have a very strong core group of supporters who are equally passionate about our team as any victorian is. Anyway, Did he forget the 100 000+ Sydneysiders who lined the city streets to celebrate their victory? Doesn't sound like 3 people and a dog to me. Typical Victorian mentality with their superiority complex.

Really poor form by the melbourne media in general tbh. They are always giving us a hard time with their one dimensional analysis. Everytime our team conitues to defy their lowly expectations I see it as a big f-you in their direction.

They don't rate us - but they know we're there.
                      Fortunately, we play above that.
                      That suits me fine.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

What a fool. That was the panel that appointed Roos. That dog could sing too. A real howler.

I say we all head down and have a Swan-In on the tv studio steps.

                          ... erm, whatever a Swan-In might be.

I'd explain it but Wardy might need another bottle of Port if I do.

Yes, the moment I typed that, I thought with a name like that it may entail far more boas and sequins than many RWOers would be comfortable with. Best call any studio protest or demo something a bit catchier.
