The ground drains well, as most modern grounds do, and with a sunny morning tomorrow and a bit of wind around I would expect the playing surface to be pretty good, and probably better than it is for night games when it's affected by dew.

Mind you, we have played some mighty wins in the rain, witness that West Coast finals game, thunderboltsandlightning. Oh, yeah, just remembered, different personnel......

It's starting to clear here. I'm hopeful for a nice, sunny afternoon of footy.

Wasn't it also wet when we beat North in 2008? I should know, I was one of the 19K there, but my memory is playing tricks on me!!

It was raining cats and dogs that night. I had water dripping off my cap, and we thrashed North Melbourne.

Yep, that's right, how on earth could I forget! That's the reason they said we had such a shocking crowd! That and also the fact that there was almost no publicity. That was a great game. Would you believe it, we are in the same seats tomorrow!! We are getting worse with our superstitions all the time!

Just to add to the mix; came across someone today who is a Swans member, and isn't going to the game because (and get this) they are miffed they don't get automatic access on their season ticket! Had to explain to them that the home and away season is over, and now.....you know the d rill. Don't think I had them convinced......not all Swannies are the full packet, you may have noticed.

I agree we should have first crack at our H&A seats if we want them but not to go because of it, is in my mind, disgraceful.

There's no wet weather in Sydney this morning, but there are raging westerly winds.

The seriously strong gale force winds last night will have dried out the ground nicely - a very mild 16C at 7am. Not a cloud to be seen. Just hope it stops blowing by 2.40pm.

Warm and sunny here in Epping this morning, but still strong, blustery winds. Don't know what the breeze is like over at ANZ but if it's anything like here, goal-kicking could be challenging. Hope it dies down a bit.
