Having just watched the replay myself and having been at the game I too reckon it is Channel 7's sound recording.

Listening on the radio (we were in the car on the way home for the second half), the crow3d sounded awesome.

          Worst performer at the ground?

Maybe the sound continues to reverberate around my head but I thought the crowd sounded loud on the replay especially in the last Qtr.

            Oh dear, local rivalry...

We are Niagara Park Demons through and through (and Gosford are the arch-rivals!). Actually, I'm not in the local AFL scene at the moment as all the sons play soccer and my star daughter is now too old to play mixed AFL and had to go back to soccer (no girls teams here). She was BOG in the u/12s grand final 2005 against Killarney - kicked 5 goals, 4 in the first quarter. Hoping the younger kids want to have a go in future years.

Good luck to your boy on Saturday at Rodgers Park!! (as long as they are not playing us)

Only because you were following the lead of the magnificent bay 108.

In aisle 111 we couldn't have clapped our clappers or yelled any more...no voices today.....the atmosphere was great & I've been going to the footy for a long, long time.

I just watched a replay online - the crowd noise was amazing in the 4th! Even the usual Swans naysayer Sam Lane (who was at the game) and Scott Spits from Real Footy made a point of mentioning "how amazing the atmosphere" was and how "remarkable" the crowd was yesterday.

A comment that tells what it was like for the players:

That intensity and ferocity of the contest throughout the last quarter was just amazing to be a part of.
The crowd was deafening towards the end and we could feel the atmosphere out on the ground. (Kieren Jack)

From aisle 141, first quarter mostly quiet except on scores. Second quarter picked up and there was pretty good buzz going on. I actually blame the damned sun/shade dilemma. It was often hard to figure what was going on as our eyes kept adjusting.

No excuses in the third - it was a library as everyone was in despair. But, like most have said, the last 10 minutes was as loud as I've heard ANZ or SCG.

The thing is, the crowd doesn't ignite the players - they have to do something to lift the crowd first although we did get the sydney ... sydney drone going a couple of times when it was looking grim in the fourth.

I think the thing was Teasdale that the crowd was struggling to get into it in the 3rd/early 4th because it had looked like we really had blown it. We were getting hammered all around the ground, and a lot of people (me included) were just hoping and almost praying we could hang in there. Once we got the break through with the TDL goal after jesse's fantastic work, than the crowd sensed that the momentum had shifted and really got going after that.

I've watched a replay of the fourth quarter several times now - - and the intensity of the noise after TDL ties the score, ROK gives us the lead, TDL scores again, and finally the siren goes, is amazing.

It makes you wonder what it would have been like with a crowd of 50-60-70K people.
