It was on those last two goals that I was doing laps of the aisles - screaming like a fishmongers' wife.
    Hilarious.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I have a picture of that in my head - and it would indeed be hilarious!!! (I was busy hiding from you know who, in 412)
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Well, in Aisle 110 it was deathly quiet all game, though I did hear a whispered thank you as a repentent latecomer took his seat. Polite applause at the final siren and 3 people sang along with the club song.

The reality? The best crowd I've ever been part of. Deafening. The feet stamping was awesome. Chants galore. Must have been a choir of 30,000 plus singing the club song. Someone listening to it on the radio said that in the last quarter the commentary was drowned out by the crowd. Still partly deaf in one ear and my voice has not yet recovered. Pulled into McDonalds at Sutton Forest on the way home - it was a sea of red and white. If I'd had any voice left I would have burst in singing "cheer, cheer..."

I took a friend and her 7 year old son. The 7 year old is not particularly shy, nervous or retiring but he was quite shaken at the end and said that the noise in the final 10 minutes had really scared him!

Good thing he wasn't near us where the woman in front of me (Swans fan) freaked out when the Blues went ahead and started a whole histrionic mourning process of screaming "I can't bear this" over and over and banging the chair but stopped short of renting her garments.

I knew just how she felt.

My 9 year old nephew got caught up in the whole thing and said over and over after the game. "I've lost my voice, Ive lost my voice". The irony of him actually saying that was lost on him but I digress. His mother rang me yesterday to complain that he hasn't shut up since I brung him home, reliving all the goals, dodgy Umpire decisions and of course repeating in glorious detail the histrionics of his favourite Uncle. (Well I better be or he'll be walking to games next year

Great to hear the next gen of Swans fans are being aptly trained!

Shame I didn't stop at Sutton Forest on the way home to Canberra- I almost did I must say but was so high on the adrenalin of it all I just wanted to get home and have a nice long sleep!

People ... you should see this kid.
He wouldn't say boo to a mouse.

Spot on Annie... you wouldn't have believed it was the same kid. Not sure his mothers too impressed though. All i get is "he sounds just like you". Who'd a thought, Big Al a role model.

Congrats son. You've put your sister (in-law?) off side. Job well done.
I've been doing that for nearly 25 years.

Funny how this thread has gone from discussing how ANZ was deathly silent to trying to work out if it out ranked the Cats 2005 semi (it didn't - I felt that roar through my entire body) or how the loud barracking has changed family relationships (go Al!).

Even from the start of the game the noise level had me thinking how addicted I am to the thrill of finals - and how I missed it last year. By the end I was looking at the hugging and kissing and high fives and thought how much I love a close finals win. But not this weekend please boys - it's be nice to be 60 points up at 3/4 time so we can sit back with a quiet beer and contemplate the joys of life and the finesse of TDL's little skippy run in.

I must admit it is an odd comment. Bay 412 was so consistently noisy they kept waking me up.
