Definitely needs a rest. Big mistake taking an injured player into a final, coould well have ended up being a mistake today, even though he kicked a crucial goal, after which I couldn't work out if he was screaming in ectasy or agony.

ROK kicked the goal that set us up for victory. And Jesse's pass to TDL for his Q4 goal was sublime. I saw Rohan warming up in the rooms but I bet if there are no injuries there will be no changes. Roos must be tempted to bring in Braddy.

Ben? No chance - running out a game against the Dogs with three on the bench if he proves down in form or confidence after a major injury would be a huge risk.

But there's a chance a few players will pull up sore after this week. Kirk didn't see the game out - do you expect him to be dropped, too?

I'm not so naive as to think all senior players go into the finals at absolutely 100% (see Leo Barry, 2005), but his groin (or whatever it is) has got the better of him and he really needs a week to rest it.

PS I thought Jesse White was fine. Didn't take the hangers today, but created a contest and kept the ball in the area at crucial times, and moved the ball on to advantage a few times too.
For a big bloke I find Jesse a bit soft and very unimposing. He could do more but might not have the mental toughness to do so.

Did RoK even get out of the forward line. He was an outight passenger today except or the fortuitous goal. Should be rested on that performance and Reid brought into the forward line. Reid would have offered more today than the chef

He (Jessie) was far too easily moved off the ball. He needs to play smarter in the body contests.

                Passenger and clearly struggling.
When he let go of the Blues tackler who broke free and goaled - I almost fell over when I realized this was Rok.
Has to be on the chopping list this week.

I would really like ROK to be 100% or near it next week, but even crook, he still got the goal that put us there..up to the match committee i guess. Suggestions that Jesse did not fire are off the mark..he did what he was supposed to do..a REALLY significant mark at a crucial time. brough the ball to ground, no glaring mistakes and 2 goal assists (both clever) and a goal!

With respect T bag, have another look at the replay.

His tackling was fairly ordinary today.

It seemed Russell was given the orders to run off him and make him work.

His only other highlight was the hanger he took (Q1?)

Besides that one goal, he was one of the worst performers out there. Should've made way for someone else.
His one on one marking attempts were really pathetic.
In one play where the blues scored, he got easily bumped off a contested ball, and then failed to lay a tackle on the player who then goaled.
I cringed every time the ball went near him.

Agree, except in the last 10 mins. he did nothing useful.

The ugliest thing I can say about ROK's performance is to say it was Brad Johnson-like! Anyway, ROK is such a superstar that in his worst game he can still kick the winning goal. Shouldn't have played against the Lions and clearly needs a week off.

Cannot do the Rodney Eade thing and carry injured players. Despite that important goal ROK was a complete liability out there.

                                Better value having Rohan in.
