I still can't understand the mentality that White would be dropped for Bradshaw, IT WON'T HAPPEN, even Roo's says all the time Bradshaw and White are there to compliment each other (just like a Buddy and Roughhead from hawks setup).

Brashaw won't play, Bulldogs are a super quick team, McGlynn is a chance I reckon, and Bevan will make way for him.

We were being killed for height in marking contests by Warnock etc. Mummy and Pyke had to work hard to recover from that. Braddy would be another handy tall.

Is there talk that Baz was cited for mouthing off to the umps on Saturday? Can he be suspended for that?
I heard Mumford pulled up lame after Sunday? Assuming he did (and what I say next is based on that assumption), you'd move White into the ruck, put Pyke as lead ruckman (he's really starting to show his talents), bring in Bradshaw and possibly drop Jetta for McGlynn. Or possibly rok if he's injured of course.

        Otherwise, definite selection problem.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

As for McGlynn and Bradshaw, I can see some merit in slotting McGlynn back into the side but with Bradshaw missing so long how will the skills and maych fitness hold up in a pressure semi-final.

Lake's fitness would want to improve for that to be the case. Looked very sore coming off the ground on Saturday night.

Moore out for McGlynn (that seems like an easy selection to me). If ROK is carrying an injury then its ROK out for Bradshaw.

Moore's struggled a couple of times on the MCG so he may come out for McGlynn.

Seriously, I think there's more chance of TDL being dropped for Ben than Moore. And TDL being dropped would be a travesty. This is rather like the "drop Luke" threads but with less justification - the coaches will pick Moore for the role they expect him to do and the non-fans will call for him to be dropped every week.

It's like the calls to drop White for Bradshaw. If that happens it'll come with a note that reads "attached is your ticket to the Gold Coast. We'll work out what to do about a tall forward when Braddy twangs his hammy in R3 2011."

A fit Bradshaw and McGlynn are clearly in our best 22 so unless we can have 6 interchanges 2 players must make way. In other words there will be 2 unlucky players. Also the day a coach selects a player because if they didn't they'd sulk and go to another club will be the day they need to quite.

I reckon that's more likely to be decided by the medical staff than the coaches. At this time of the year everyone carries injuries so it's just a matter of who is the best suited of the walking wounded. I remember talking to Andrew Schauble about him not being able to get back into the team in 2004 (?) and he said that he was relying on injuries and as there weren't any he stayed out "but I can't be too resentful as that's how I got my start in seniors after another player was injured."

TDL has done enough to earn his spot - in spades. So it's whether we bring in Braddy, Ben and Rohan over some of the sore and injured winners from the last game. But all players lie a lot at this time of the year too - Craig Bird told me at the Cats game that he was ready to go the next week - and he hasn't been sighted since. And I keep hearing that Braddy is both limping and raring to go. Oh yeah? And it's a huge call to bring in Ben when he might be tempted to play a more tentative game knowing that a hard hit in the same spot could be very serious. Can we rely on all players being Leo who played finals knowing his facial injury would leave him blind or worse if he was hit there again?

This is an interesting thread, and I think that the outcome (placing fitness aside) should be based around percentages. The other thought provoking aspect of this is beyond this finals series. So I pose a couple of questions based around 1%'ers and X factor.

White v Bradshaw. Bradshaw is probably the x-factor at the moment and could do things in a finals situation that could be amazing, but this comes with risk of not being up to it. White may not do amazing things, but there were 2 1%'ers on the weekend which make his inclusion more bankable. The contested handball off the deck in a tough situation in front of the posts with multiple opponents to gift Jetta a goal, and the last qtr contested mark on the wing the ensured our down field progressive possession. My choice would probably be with Jesse given he has both a stake in this campaigns creation, and can do those things we saw. Tough....but current personal stake in the group adds a bit also

McGlynn, unbelievable bankable 1%'er player, we saw that when he put his body on the line in ridiculous circumstances really against Freo. If he is fit he should be in, but not at the cost of an x-factor player like ROK. Whether fit or not he can do things that will win games when needed, just his base level of fitness alone and ability with ball in hand cannot be substituted in a finals campaign like this. I tend to think that Bevan while good, strong tackling and being bankable recently in general play potentially has to make space if McGlynn is fit.

My overall rationale is we need both forms of player in the right combination....if there are in betweens...they need to be measured against other in betweens.

In the longer term, we are going to potentially have 3 ruck specific specialists with differing strengths, Seaby making space and reading play, Mummy physical prescence, massive 2nd/3rd efforts and opposition dominating attitude, and Pyke great tap, mobility and stamina ability.

Whoever runs out this weekend, I hope we decide that based upon both this campaign and our undoubted tilt at a flag in the next 3 years!!!

I'm not being anti Moore at all. It's just that someone has to go and it certainly wont be TDL (doesnt even deserve mentioning as a possibility) or the vastly improved Bevan. For me, Moore seems the obvious choice.

McGlynn should play wearing a helmet.
