Oxymoron deserves a SEN text message flash mob. When it comes to the Swans he's as befuddled as that other idjit, Crotch Crotchison.

Oxy's, of course, backpedaling and flip-flopping like a 10-inch high toy clown. Ol' Hungry Bartlett backed us in early.
I was wrong about Gerard and his hair.

Makes Currie's position on the list interesting. I wonder if we'll try and trade him for a high draft pick or hold on to him for another season?

At the pre match the qn was asked if he'd look elsewhere if he couldn't get a game. He replied no, but then he may get traded, and he'd have little control over that situtation..
Would be a shame to lose him.

At least this week he has repeatedly said we have 3 of the big improvers in the comp, Jack, Pyke and Mummy.

Do you think other teams would give up a high draft pick for him?

Doubtful, they are solid gold these next 2 years. But he's big young, and halfway through development. So you never know.

I'd like to keep him, he's yet to be tested and isn't fully developed.

There are a few things in our favour, namely:

                He's contracted
Ruckman go for overs as many teams are desparate for a quality ruckman
He's highly rated by other clubs if rumours of the Pies offer of a 1st round pick a few years back are accurate

Having said that I'd be happy to keep him

There is no doubt in my mind that Taubert is an absolute master, with his only blemish being Stafford who he is on record as saying that Stafford wasn't really interested in learning in the Football Record - this year if I recall, but I can't name the round.

I've also started to wonder though if Pyke ever did the rucking at line-outs. No doubt Taubert is great and Pyke's a quick learner, but that hit-out to advantage stat is phenomenal. AFL ruckman ruck for years and don't hit that mark.

If I recall correctly, in the latest AFL Record his hitout-to-advantage percentage was something like 18%?

If every ruckman is fit next year it will be very interesting to see what happens. I for one am more than happy with Pykes recent form and think he'd be stiff to not get into our best 22. There may just be more than just a rucking string to his bow as well, lets see what happens over summer .......

Pyke's shown a bit of nous in dropping back to fill a backline hole and he has safe hands. RWOers who watch the reserves say he's spent a bit of time in the backline there. Imagine that, he could be a Dunkley who rucks!

I just watched the final quarter of the Blues game again and was impressed by Mike's big handball forward and then his kick in that led to ROK's goal. I think he might still have a big part to play in the next chapters of the finals campaign 2010. He's certainly looking like a big event player (like TDL).

I swear i haven't seen Pyke handball to anyone else after he takes a mark or gets a free... It's hillarious.

A very useful and entertaining double-act.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
