Roosy - please do not play injured players in finals. You would think O'Keefe who looks really hampered would be most likely to come out......

TDL - Four goals and a tackle, and a remarkable goal from the boundary. WoW

You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

I already posted on the website - doubt they will print it though - because I indicated that there were 17 other Carlton kids out there busting a gut too, it just wasnt Judd and the Swans came home when it mattered. I also asked, would there have been a headline "Swans deserved 10 more minutes" if Carton had got over the line - I very much doubt it.

The thing with the Herald Sun is it is a typical pro Victorian newspaper.

Anyone would think the AFL was still the Victorian Football League.

The other thing that really @@@@ted me was the absolute bull@@@@ peddled by Carlton supporters on ABC Grandstand's Facebook page.

The way they were carrying on it was as though the yellow gremlins were favouring us.

I thought that was a total crock of @@@@ as the Blues led the free kick count in a massive way and I thought the yellow aliens tried to gift Carlton a win with that free kick with about 50 seconds left and Carlton got that behind.

Fantastic win and roll on the Doggies next week.

            Cheer Cheer!

I love the fact that none of our 3 posters or Bevans' butchering of a certain goal from 20m (straight in front) were mentioned. I am bloody sick of hearing about all their missed opportunities.

Then again - I don't really care now, moving on to next week!!!!

Blues deserved 10 more minutes | Herald Sun

I thought this article was flaming hilarious!!! You can almost visualize the reporter blubbering like a baby as he hands his tear stained final draft to the editor for approval!!!! Wot a pillock!!! Anyone reading this would think that Judd was taking on the swans single handedly.... Hopefully there will be another article like this one by the same reporter next Monday Bleeting "if only the Heroic Bulldogs had anther 10 minutes, Waa waa waa".

Articles like this are annoying in one respect because they don't give credit where it is due (including to other Carltank players), but in another respect it shows that the Swans are getting under their skin, did not factor into earlier equations and are finally beginning worry a few people who did not see us coming in September.

Correct me if I am wrong (because I frequently am....) but it seems that every time either Carltank, Poos and Wees, Bulldogs or Geelong are beaten (by interstate teams in particular) the first thing that happens is their prez or their coach picks up the phone to the herald sun and floods the sports pages with with excuses. And the media seem to suck it up every time. For example Jeff Kennett giving Al Clarkson a public pasting when the swans/freo beat Hawthorn, Rodney Eade blaming the SCG surface for a 44 point thrashing and Ratten using statistics to justify Carltank's loss to the swans earlier in the year. Even Bomber Thompson blaming the umpires for the cat's Friday nights loss is barefaced denial after his team scored a dismal 1.7 in the final quarter. What is he thinking???

I imagine Carlton supporters living in Sydney could have similar thoughts about the Daily Telegraph's coverage of the game.

                    Funniest line was
The Blues were enormous, waking after a slow start to beat Sydney in all the indicators that usually count.
                    Except the scoreboard, @@@@head.

I used to get annoyed about the Victorian coverage of the Swans but recently I have started to think that when they do they underestimate the Swans, that is when our boys play their best football. So keep it up Melbourne journos, more power to us.

Best way for the Swans to go is to fly in under the radar. But make sure there is a big bandwagon later on.

As I am an old South Melbourne supporter( was born in Albert rd opposite the old South ground )
I am finding it increasingly disappointing when reading the sports pages of the Melbourne papers when the Swans win. There are reams and reams on the Vic teams but lucky to get 1/2 a page on the Swans.
I believe there are still a few thousand of us "Old Blood" supporters still alive.
I am very pleased to have found this site, I can now get a bit of REAL info. about The Swans.
