This is the best thread - perfect alternative to biting fingernails until Saturday night. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

I love it! AND, AND!!! I will be singing Honour the Bloods by day and by night (wish I could by night....but that's another thread)....Love it.If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Let's cut to the really important stuff. Do you sing the last line on a rising or falling inflection?
I go one way but the team goes the other. Which is correct?Comment

No, no, no!!!! I play a very mean air banjo! Air kazoo just doesn't cut it.
However, a banjo and kazoo duet would be ok. Bit like a Dolly and Kenny duet.Last edited by Bas; 7 September 2010, 04:07 PM.In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

Whichever suits your voice. I generally go low, but in moments of great relief (as last Saturday night) will go high and frighten the bystanders. Comes out like Tiny Tim.Last edited by dimelb; 7 September 2010, 04:07 PM.He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. At the ground, with the full version, the first stanza goes down, but the second stanza goes upward. Both are right, but the full version with banjo solo inserted demands both a downward and upward inflection.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

I am bit the same - I held off for a long time (singing the old version), but too many around have been singing 'whether' so I have stumbled at times. A few weeks ago my wife (a Bomber's supporter) and I were trying to sing the song to my niece and she sang "what though" and I sang "whether" - then I felt bad - although maybe 'whether' is easier for kids. My wife will sing the song when we win and usually sings "what though" because that is what I used to sing so often in the past - 'whether' sort of has the wrong beat - but I probably just go quiet at that point more often now.
Yeah, I would sing that - sounds good! I was originally going to suggest changing the "while her loyal sons" to "while our loyal Bloods" as well, but I thought the first suggestion might be too much for some on its own.
