He might be a HBF, but it's of a type that we don't already have. He's not trading on lightning quick pace or hard tackling, his main strengths are reading the play, height, marking, and vision. I reckon we'll see him in a bit of a Goddard-style role; tall, third-man-up, setting up play from half back. We may well see Malceski move to the wing, or even into the middle, and Shaw will probably reprise his utility role.
Ultimately, I see Everitt developing into a Goddard-style utility. Stick him on the HBF, learn that trade, build confidence, and then in a couple of years he might start drifting forward, and playing midfield.Last edited by BSA5; 7 October 2010, 10:18 AM.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

With all these positions for Everitt to play being discussed,no one is addressing who we leave out of the current 22 best which includes Seaby,Bolton C and LRT. When I try to do this I cannot find a place for him! Its Canberra I reckon for Handy Andy at leats for 1/2 a season till injuries open up spots.Comment

Well that's 3 that are in our best 22 (according to you) that have not been on the field lately. So whoever came in for them will probably be left off to open a spot for Itzy. Itzy will play most of the 22 games in the firsts next year (or is that 23 or 22 and a bye or 24) ... C Bolts is still not back ... LRT - same, Seaby - same ... Trading has not yet finished either. With all these positions for Everitt to play being discussed,no one is addressing who we leave out of the current 22 best which includes Seaby,Bolton C and LRT. Rohan maybe. Everitt can play KP in a pinch, but it isn't what he'll be in the side for. LJ and Reid will be fine.
Look, in the end, more competition for spots is a good thing. If Rohan, Reid and Johnston are good enough, they'll get games.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

Knowing our injury luck all 3 will probably play a majority of games.
But isn't this a nice problem to have. We have 25+ guys that could be given a game and we'd be reasonably confident that they'd be effective. You know you're doing well as a club if you're forced to keep good players out. There are teams that would kill just for 22 good players. *cough*brisbane*coughLast edited by MrPresident; 7 October 2010, 12:26 PM.Comment

Talk about panic stations. Rohan and Reid have spent one season on our list and both have shown they're very capable. They're not going anywhere just because we traded for Everitt, ffs.Last edited by DeadlyAkkuret; 7 October 2010, 02:26 PM.Comment
