Hard to argue with you there Big Al.

For the seasoned attendees, what time does the evening officially finish and they boot you out of the venue? I'm still working out the travel details.

I haven't decided whether to be saintly sober or have one or two shandy's.

They had to bring back the time to fit all the stuff in, so its 6.30 for 7pm start, and its worth getting there asap to catch up before the 800 or so disperse to tables. Official stuff goes to about 11 and then mayhem amongst the mob with photos and "i love you, I really really do....".

Throw out time is usually about midnight. It all depends on the venue. I can't remember what happened last time (circa 2003, Stuey as Captain spoke, brilliantly), but Kirky showed me his baby photos and young Indhi now plays footy with my second cousin's grandson.....hows that for six degrees of separation!

I'm planning on several shandies or whatever else is going. And as for being booted out, they'll only need to pour me into the lift.

and a few bubbles for me darlings! I'm in that boat too, just pour me in the lift and hope to god I a) get off at the right floor & b) go to the right room!!!

So sorry to anyone staying at the Intercontinental Hotel in Sydney in the very early hours of February 8 2004 - a very pissed woman returning from her 40th b'day party went to the wrong floor, got back in the lift went to right floor and then proceeded to go to the wrong room! - I got ther eventually!

hell I may as well apologise to the patrons of the Westin in advance!

Bas - if you can afford it - get a room there - have a look at WOTIF or take up the option that the club has. The Wynyard Travel Lodge is pretty reasonably priced (and not too bad either)and its not that far to walk to get there.

also have a look on Lastminute.com - in the CBD - there are specials to be had all over the city!

Thanks for that Wardy. I wasn't that excited about catching a train back up the Central Coast arriving at 2:30 am.

Our table will probably be the one making all the noise.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I got in via the waiting list, looks like a random table of strangers for me too, unless anyone has a couple of spare spots on their table? Otherwise I'm happy to sit anywhere as long as it's not behind Big Al -- should be a fun night no matter where you sit!
