Lateral thinking: Swans gone C'arn the pies

Who do you now want to win the flag? I thought about that a lot yesterday as I'll be at the game. I've decided I really want a Pies Premiership.

    1. All those Victorians who are so happy about an all Victorian finals can deal with the consequences.

    2. An off season of 30 pages on the brave Pies, their forebears and offspring in every edition of the Hun will lead to a massive Premiership hangover that will give us the best chance to reverse the long standing pattern of losses against them during the Roos era.

    3. When we win the 2011 Premiership and restore some balance to the world and Melbourne media we will be greeted as saviours rather than interstate interlopers.

    C'arn the Pies.

Nope. Can't do it under any circumstances. There's nothing sweeter than seeing the Pies fall at the last hurdle.

I'm going to be in Sydney for GF week and the week after so I will avoid some of the carry on if the unthinkable should happen.

Thought long and hard about this ......would like the 2011 result that you predict...but not at the personal expense of barracking for the Pies. It would be like a Harry Potter Dementor attack...my soul would be sucked out. Good luck to you though. I know some good counsellors.

Best possible result?? Pies win next weekend, then v Saints GF day.
5 point lead..seconds to go..ball in dispute in centre..Maggies get it clear to well inside their 50
..Supporters are screaming..fewer seconds to go..Oops..was that a whistle as he cleared it from the middle??
Malthouse coaching from sidelines..he's ordered a hasty exchange..VIOLATION! Interchange steward on ground..
Happened before the clearance..free at centre square!! plus mandatory 50..Milne 25 m from goal..dead in front..Goal! SIREN!
More Malthouse tears!!!!!!!! And Royboy 42 cheers!

                  Are You Mad!!!

I see where you are coming from.....but that doesn't mean I approve.

I shall be roundly cheering whoever is playing the pies and in any game. I want cold pork pies.

Happy to have Collingwood win this year - maybe they won't try so hard next year. Also saps Geelong and Saints' confidence. Anticipate decimation of Pies supporter numbers - they'll party so hard they kill themselves with alcohol poisoning - or jump off their rooftops thinking they can fly. Go Jaidyn, Jaidyn and Jaidyn.

Ironically, I have never personally met a Collingwood supporter I didn't like - but on mass, before, during and after games they are feral.

Agreed. The very thought is ... well, unthinkable. As I said elsewhere, ABC (Anyone But Collingwood).

If the pies win, you can bet in 9 months time there will be alot of new borns around named Alan, Leon, Dane & Steele and thats just the baby girls!

I could never go for Collingwood - it goes against all that is holy in this world and my dad would turn in his grave (if he had one), well his ashes, where we threw him, would re-ignite the bush reserve behind my mums place if I did!

I'm with Royboy. Perfect scenario. However, I won't be watching if C'wood are playing. Just can't do it, hate everything to do with them.
